Commercial flight operations will start from Noida International Airport (Jewar) from June 15. Officials said that domestic airline company ‘Indigo’ will be the first to start its services from the new airport. The first flight of Indigo will depart from Chaudhary Charan Singh International Airport in Lucknow at 7:05 am on June 15 and will reach Noida International Airport at 8:05 am. After this, the first regular commercial flight will be operated from the airport to Bengaluru.
This airport is located in Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) area in Gautam Buddha Nagar district. Uttar Pradesh Involved in major infrastructure projects of the government. Officials say that with the construction of this airport, Uttar Pradesh’s position as a major aviation, logistics and connectivity hub of the country will be further strengthened. First phase of airport work completed
Noida A runway, integrated terminal building and air traffic control (ATC) tower have been constructed in the first phase of the international airport. This airport received an aerodrome license from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) on 6 March 2026. Spread over an area of approximately 1,334 hectares, this project is to be completed in four phases. On completion of each phase, the annual passenger handling capacity of Noida Airport will reach 3 crore passengers by 2031, 5 crore by 2036 and 7 crore passengers by 2040 respectively.
Officials said that after the completion of all four phases of construction, Noida International Airport will have five runways and its total annual passenger handling capacity will reach 22.5 crore (225 million) passengers. With this it will be included among the largest airports in the world. This airport will provide better facilities to the passengers of Western Uttar Pradesh, Delhi-NCR, Haryana, Rajasthan and Uttarakhand.
Indigo will connect more than 16 cities
Indigo airline is planning to connect this airport with more than 16 cities including Lucknow, Hyderabad, Amritsar, Chandigarh, Jaipur, Srinagar and Pantnagar in a phased manner. The first phase of Noida Airport was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi this year. The Uttar Pradesh government estimates that this project will generate about one lakh direct and indirect employment opportunities. Also, large scale investment will be attracted in industrial, logistics, warehousing, hospitality and other allied sectors.
