Election officer Manoj Aggarwal, who conducted SIR in West Bengal, has been appointed as the new Chief Secretary of Bengal in the Suvendu government.
Special Intensive Revision (SIR) was conducted in the voter list in Bengal before the assembly elections under the supervision of West Bengal cadre officer Manoj Aggarwal. Under which names of about 91 lakh voters were removed from the voter list.
Apart from this, retired IAS officer Subrata Gupta has also been included as advisor to the Chief Minister. Subrata was appointed Observer during SIR in Bengal. These appointments reflect open collusion and nexus between the Election Commission and the BJP.
Congress said- Election Commission cleverly benefited BJP

Congress General Secretary Jairam Ramesh wrote on social media, “These appointments reflect open collusion and nexus between ECI and BJP.” Now no effort is being made to hide this collusion.
He alleged that these appointments were proof that the ECI was not impartial and acted solely to benefit the BJP.
Ramesh said, 27 lakh people were stopped from voting during the elections. ECI carried out this work very cleverly to give electoral advantage to BJP.
TMC said – no one still believes that the elections were fair
TMC leader Saket Gokhale described the move as ‘extremely shameless’. Whereas TMC MP Derek O’Brien sarcastically called it a ‘coincidence’. In his post on
