Congress leader Anisur Rahman and his son were murdered on Independence Day night in Nadia district of West Bengal. The incident took place near Bethuadahari Railway Gate.
Anisur was returning home by car with his son on Saturday night. On the way, miscreants stopped his car and fired indiscriminately. After this, they opened the car gate and attacked both of them with sharp weapons. Both died on the spot.
Anisur Rahman was a member of the Pradesh Congress Committee and general secretary of Nadia District Congress. While his son Abu Sufiyan was studying LLB from Kalyani.
