People trapped in floods in Pakistan’s Khyber state were rescued with rope.
The sudden landslide and floods after heavy rains in Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa state killed 189 people in 24 hours, including 163 men, 14 women and 12 children.
According to the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA), more than 60 people are injured, while many are missing. During the rescue work in Khyber, a helicopter fell victim to an accident, killing five people, including two pilots, died.
Bunar district of Khyber has suffered the most damage, where 91 people died. In addition, 26 houses, three schools and eight other buildings were destroyed in Swat.

Rescue team spokesperson Muhammad Sohail said that more than 157 bodies have been recovered so far and more than 100 people have been evacuated to safe places. However, bad weather and lack of communication services have made rescue operations difficult.
