Seven people were killed and three others were injured in two roadside bomb blasts in Pakistan’s north-western Bannu district on Saturday. Officials have confirmed this. According to police, the first blast took place in Phang Musa Khel area of Wazir subdivision. In this a passenger train was targeted. The vehicle was going towards Domel when a blast was set off using remote control. In this, 5 people died and 3 others were injured. The injured of the first blast were being taken to the hospital for treatment, when after some time the second blast occurred. The explosion occurred about a kilometer away from the site of the first attack. Two more people died and a vehicle was also damaged. Security forces reached the spot Bannu District Police Officer (DPO) Yasir Afridi said that security forces have reached the spot. Evidence has been collected from the spot and investigation into the case has been started. The police issued a statement calling the attacks a cowardly terrorist act. According to police, both the vehicles were targeted in remote controlled blasts. Relief and rescue teams evacuated the bodies of the dead and injured to Domel Rural Health Center and Khalifa Gul Nawaz Teaching Hospital. Later, security forces surrounded the entire area and started a search operation. Officials fear that more bombs may be present in the area. Pakistan President warns terrorists Pakistan President Asif Ali Zardari strongly condemned the attack and expressed grief over the death of civilians. He expressed condolences to the families of the deceased and wished for the speedy recovery of the injured.
