Imran Khan has been in jail for the last 400 days

Jailed former Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan’s party PTI organized a huge rally in Islamabad on Sunday. Party supporters are demanding the release of Imran. The party had asked supporters to come to Islamabad.

The supporters who reached Islamabad raised slogans in support of Imran’s immediate release. They also protested against the ban imposed by the Pakistan government on PTI.

The rally was supposed to end at 7 pm local time. According to the district administration, the rally did not end even after the deadline. After this, the administration ordered the police to take action.

On the other hand, PTI workers started pelting stones at the police, in which many security personnel were injured. During this, the police used tear gas to disperse the crowd.

Thousands of people attended the rally This PTI rally was held near Sangjani cattle market in Islamabad. Due to non-receipt of NOC, this rally was postponed twice in the last 2 months. The Islamabad administration has now issued NOC for this rally.

Thousands of Imran Khan’s supporters took part in the rally. This shows that the party’s base is strong even after Imran Khan’s arrest.

PTI leader in the National Assembly, Umar Ayub Khan, said that the party will not sit quiet until Imran Khan is released. He said, “We are soldiers of Imran Khan and will not sit quiet until he is released.”

Imran is in jail since August last year Imran Khan was arrested on August 5 last year after being convicted in the Toshakhana corruption case. Since then he has been in jail in several cases. On Sunday, Imran completed 400 days in jail.

On July 13, the Islamabad court acquitted Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi in the fake marriage case. The court had said that they should be released immediately.

Just 5 hours after the court order, the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) team arrested him in another case related to Toshakhana.
