The signature of Pakistan Foreign Minister Muhammad Ishaq Dar and Bangladesh Foreign Advisor Mohammad Tauheed Hussain were signed.
Pakistan and Bangladesh have signed 6 agreements on Sunday. This includes strengthening cooperation in the fields of trade, economy, diplomatic training, education, media and culture.
These agreements were reached after a delegation level conversation between Pakistan Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Muhammad Ishaq Dar and Bangladesh Foreign Advisor Mohammad Tauheed Hussain.
Actually, Ishaq Dar reached Bangladesh on two yesterday visit yesterday. Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry described the visit as an important step for both countries. The visit was a Bangladesh tour of a Pakistani Foreign Minister for the first time after 13 years.
According to Bangladesh’s The Daily Star, the two countries are planning to hold a Joint Economic Commission meeting in September or October, which will take place two decades later. For this, Pakistan Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb Dhaka may come.

Pakistan and Bangladesh signed 6 agreements
- Visa free agreement: People with government and diplomatic passports of both countries will be able to go to each other’s country without visa.
- Business Work Group: The two countries together will form a group to increase trade, which will work on business issues.
- Foreign Service Academy Cooperation: Diplomatic training institutes of the two countries will work closely with each other and share experiences.
- Media Agency Cooperation: An agreement has been reached between Associated Press of Pakistan Corporation and Bangladesh news agency Sangabad. This institution will work together.
- Strategic study cooperation: Strategic and International Affairs Research Institutes of the two countries will work together.
- cultural exchange: Both countries will organize programs to share their culture, art and traditions.
Pakistan wants a new round partnership
A few hours after reaching Dhaka, Dar met leaders of several political parties. These included former Prime Minister Khaleda Zia’s party BNP and Jamaat-e-Islami, considered radical,.
The Jamaat-e-Islami is the same party that opposed the independence of Bangladesh from Pakistan in 1971. The meeting of Dar and Jamaat leaders is being given special importance.
Dar said in the press conference that Pakistan now wants a new round partnership with Bangladesh. He appealed to the government, political parties and youth to work.

Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry said on X- The conversation took place in a good environment, which reflects the current friendship between the two countries. We have agreed to further strengthen the relationship. The discussion also included a solution to regional and international issues, Palestine and Rohingya issues.
According to sources, issues like bilateral relationships and activating SAARC arose in the conversation. At the same time, NCP leaders also demanded an apology from Pakistan on the massacre of 1971.
Pakistan-Bangladesh Knowledge Corridor
Pakistan announced 500 scholarships for Bangladeshi students in the next five years, of which one-fourths will be in the medical field.
Also, training will be given for 100 Bangladeshi civil servants. Pakistan has also decided to increase the scholarships given to Bangladeshi students from 5 to 25 under the technical assistance program.
