Tamanna said- After every ups and downs, a new flight was found.

A school girl from Mumbai signed the film at the age of 13-14. Perhaps even she did not know that this decision of standing in front of the camera would make her one of the long lasting actresses of Indian cinema. The beginning was not easy. The first film did not work, had to struggle with the new language and environment in the South. In the initial phase of his career, he was replaced from the film after expressing discomfort in doing a scene. It was said in front of him on the set – ‘Change the heroine.’

But Tamanna did not back down. He did not compromise his limits and did not let that incident affect his confidence. She gained recognition from Happy Days and Kalluri, Ayaan and ‘100 Percent Love’ established her as a strong actress. 2015’s Baahubali: The Beginning brought him to audiences across the country. After a career spanning more than two decades, Tamannaah associates success not with awards or any one blockbuster, but with continuous work and opportunities to play new roles.

Some more special things related to Tamannaah Bhatia’s career in today’s success story.

Sain’s first film at the age of 13

Tamannaah Bhatia was born on 21 December 1989 in Mumbai in a Punjabi family of Sindhi origin. His father Santosh Bhatia is a diamond merchant. He was brought up and educated in Mumbai. Tamanna joined Prithvi Theater at the age of 13 and used to perform on stage. He gained recognition at an early age with his acting skills.

In 2005, she made her Bollywood debut with the Hindi film ‘Chand Sa Roshan Chehra’. His age was around 13.5 years when he signed the film. At the time of promotion, she was 15 years old and preparing for class 10th examination. The film flopped miserably. After this it was becoming difficult for Tamanna to get work. For a big change in his career, he turned to South Cinema.

The director-producer said – You walk like a boy. Regarding the initial days of her career, Tamanna had said that it had not been long since she came into the industry. Then a director-producer told her – You act and dance like you do with boys. Bring girlish flexibility in your act.

Tamanna had further said- Even then I used to behave like girls, but after his advice, I worked harder.

When the Hindi film did not work, the real struggle began in the South.

In 2005, Tamanna entered South cinema with the Telugu film Sri and in 2006, she appeared in the Tamil film KD. At that time she was working in an industry whose language and culture were new to her. Recalling her early days, Tamannaah said that she did not know much about South Indian cinema. He just had to act. He had said that at that time, instead of counting success, his focus was on continuing to work and learning.

Here his struggle was not limited to just auditions or rejections of films. She had to learn new languages, work with new directors and prove herself in an environment where she was an outsider.

According to Tamanna, working in South cinema not only gave her opportunities in films, but also gave her the experience of understanding different cultures and languages. Later she started working in both Tamil and Telugu languages.

The biggest shock received on the set- ‘Change the heroine’

The most shocking incident of Tamannaah’s early career is when at a young age she had to pay the price of expressing her views on a film set. Tamanna had told in The Lallantop’s ‘Newsroom’ that she was doing a film with a big star of South. She was not comfortable with a scene. She clearly said that she does not want to create a scene.

According to Tamanna, the scene was not intimate, but there was something in it which she did not feel comfortable doing. When he expressed his views, he got the reply – ‘Change the heroine.’ This could have been a big shock for a new and young actress. At that time there could have been a fear about what would happen next if a film was lost. But Tamanna did not let this incident become her weakness.

Tamanna later said that she was proud of the reaction at that time. She neither lost her temper nor got upset thinking that her career would end after being replaced. He also said that later the same people respected him because he did not compromise under pressure.

Tamanna learned- It is not necessary to make noise to express one’s point.

Tamanna learned an important thing from this incident. According to him, if someone misbehaves with you then it is not necessary that you also react in the same way. He said that one can stick to one’s point without shouting, without fighting and without spoiling one’s behavior. In his words, sometimes there is more power in peace than in aggression.

‘Happy Days’ changed the picture, ‘Kalluri’ gave recognition to Tamil cinema

2007 proved to be important for Tamannaah’s career. In the same year, Happy Days was released in Telugu and Kalluri in Tamil. In both the films, he played the character of a college student and gained recognition among the young audience. The success of Happy Days cemented his position in Telugu cinema, while Kalluri gave him recognition among Tamil audiences.

Tamanna had said in an interview that even today she finds it validating to remember her early works like Kalluri and Happy Days. For him, not only box office success is important, but what matters more is that the audience remembers his characters even after years.

‘Ayaan’ and ‘100 percent love’ created a strong identity

In 2009, Tamannaah got a successful film like Aayan of Tamil cinema. After this, ‘100 Percent Love’ further strengthened his career. After ‘100 Percent Love’, Tamanna had admitted that she had started looking at the film industry more seriously. Earlier she was working continuously, but during this period she started feeling the need to make a choice regarding her career.

It was from here that Tamanna’s career changed. He focused on choosing different roles instead of repeating the same characters. He had said that career in this industry cannot be planned completely because there is a lot of uncertainty here. Therefore, the strategy should also keep changing and efforts should be made not to repeat itself.

Tamanna continued her success even in the era of unsuccessful films.

It would be incomplete to call Tamanna’s story only the story of hit films. There were many films in his career which did not perform as per expectations. Films like Anand Tandavam, Endukante Premantha, Himmatwala, Humshakals and Aagadu did not get the success that was expected.

Especially after Himmatwala and Humshakals in Hindi cinema, the question was whether she would be able to make her place in Bollywood permanently. But Tamanna’s answer came not through any statement, but through continuous work. She continued working in the South, returning to Hindi films and gradually building a career in which success in one industry opened the way to opportunities in another.

2015- ‘Baahubali’ became the biggest turning point of his career

2015 came again

Tamannaah played the character of Avantika in SS Rajamouli’s Baahubali: The Beginning. The film not only became a big hit, but also became one of the popular films of Indian cinema. The film introduced Tamanna to audiences who may not have been familiar with her earlier Tamil and Telugu work.

Tamanna considers Bahubali as a game changer in her career. He had said in an interview that Bahubali broadened his perspective and after that a large part of his career was about constantly trying to reinvent himself. After Bahubali, in 2017, Bahubali 2: The Conclusion further increased that identity. Now Tamanna was not just a South actress, but had become a recognized name across the country.

The definition of desire for ‘success’ is different

Today, when Tamanna looks back at her career, she does not consider success only in awards, box office or any one superhit film. For him, the biggest success is that an artiste gets a second chance.

Tamanna believes that in today’s era, if the audience wants to see an artist in different characters again and again, then it is a big achievement in itself. This is the reason why she does not consider herself locked in any one box.

She said, “Today I don’t feel confined to any kind of box. I feel I can do any kind of character.” This thing also fits his career. From college girl to commercial film heroine, from serious characters to dance numbers and OTT projects – Tamannaah did not let herself be captured in a single image.

‘Right now, for the first time, I feel most free’

The specialty of the current phase of Tamannaah’s career is that now she is not associated with any one type of role. There was a time when an actress had a special image and it was difficult to get out of it. Tamanna broke this pressure gradually.

She said that today for the first time in her career she is feeling more free. Now there is no compulsion on him to do any particular role. The audience has accepted him in different types of work. This acceptance gives him the freedom to play new characters and experiment.

‘The most difficult thing in my career was to survive’

When Tamannaah was asked about her career spanning more than two decades, what was the most difficult thing, her answer was simple – ‘Staying put’. It is not difficult to run a film, but after every ups and downs, it is difficult to reach the set again the next morning.

An actor may get a hit, but after that it is much more difficult to get consistent work, avoid repeating himself, overcome failures and maintain his place among the audience. This ability to remain consistent has been the biggest factor in Tamanna’s career.

He also acknowledged that not every day is good. But if an artist wants to stay in this industry for a long time, he will have to learn to survive. This was possible for Tamanna because she loves her work. His passion for acting and performing kept him moving forward.

Dance magic again seen from ‘Aaj Ki Raat’

Another big chapter of Tamanna’s pan-India popularity is related to the song Aaj Ki Raat from Stree 2. This song became popular on social media as soon as it was released. Tamanna’s dance and screen presence were discussed a lot. His hard work behind this song was no less. Tamanna told that she had rehearsed it for about 15 to 20 days. Choreographer Vijay Ganguly had prepared the steps according to his body and ability, so that the movements looked natural and effective for him.

The special thing is that Tamanna herself admits that she is not a trend dancer in the traditional sense. Therefore, it was important for the choreographer to work considering the artist’s potential. Shooting the song was also not easy. Tonight’s shooting took place in around 5 degree temperature and Tamannaah shot it on her birthday. He described it as a special experience and said that it is a great pleasure to celebrate a birthday while working for an artist.

Tamanna expressed happiness on Vijay Ganguly receiving the National Award

In 2026, tonight’s choreographer Vijay Ganguly received the National Award for Best Choreography for this song. Ganguly praised Tamanna after the award and said that if she had not given such a brilliant performance, the choreography would not have looked the same. He called it the hard work of the entire team.

Tamanna has also praised Ganguly’s work. He believes that it is important to keep ego aside in creative work. The real thing is how much surrender and how honestly an artist can give his best to his work. This thinking also applies to Tamanna’s career. He has tried to change himself in every phase.
