Neeraj Chopra finished second in the 2024 Diamond League Final. He threw a best throw of 87.86 meters in his third attempt. He was 0.02 meters away from becoming the champion. Anderson Peters of Grenada took the first place by throwing a best throw of 87.87 meters in his first attempt.
Neeraj threw a throw of 86.82 meters in his first attempt. Julian Weber of Germany finished third with a best throw of 85.97 meters. 7 javelin throwers participated in the final. Out of which 4 throwers could not even throw a throw of 83 meters.
The Diamond League Finals took place on 13 and 14 September at the King Baudouin Stadium in Brussels, Belgium. On Friday, India’s Avinash Sable finished 9th in the 3000m steeplechase event.

Neeraj won silver in Paris Olympics Neeraj Chopra won the silver medal in the Paris Olympic Games that ended last month. He had a season best throw of 89.45 meters. Pakistan’s Arshad Nadeem won the gold medal with a throw of 92.97 meters. However, he was not a part of the Diamond League.
Neeraj won the gold medal in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. Then Arshad Nadeem could not even make it to the top-5 players. Neeraj has won the Diamond League Final in 2022, in 2023 he finished second.
Neeraj Chopra is the only Indian athlete to win one gold and one silver medal at the Olympics.
Neeraj also has the gold medal in the World Championship Neeraj Chopra also qualified for the 2023 World Championship after winning the Diamond League final in 2022. He won a silver medal in the championship held in Eugene during 2022. In 2023, he changed the color of the medal and won gold. Neeraj has 2 gold medals in the Asian Games and one in the Commonwealth.
Avinash finished 9th in steeplechase Avinash Sable finished ninth in the Diamond League 2024 steeplechase 3000m final. He took 8:17.09 minutes to complete the race at the King Baudouin Stadium in Brussels. Amos Serem of Kenya finished first and Paris Olympic champion Soufiane El Bakkali of Morocco finished second.
