Coach Ankush Bhardwaj is absconding after an FIR was registered in NIT Mahila police station on January 6. 5 teams have been formed to arrest the accused.

Reached the shooting competition on 16 December According to the statement of the victim, there was a national level shooting competition on 16th December at Dr. Karni Singh Shooting Range in Delhi. The 17-year-old shooter’s match lasted from 10:30 in the morning to 12:45. The coach asked the shooter to stay at the range. The coach stopped him saying that he had to discuss the match. Kept waiting for the coach till 2 pm.
Called to hotel on the pretext of match analysis The victim told that during this time the coach called her and invited her to a five star hotel located in Surajkund, Faridabad. Came here in the lobby and asked to analyze and write about the match. The CCTV footage of the shooter entering the hotel and going to the lobby matches the statement. Meanwhile, the coach called again and asked him to come to the lift area. After going to the lift area, the coach took him to his room. Evidence of going into the lift area has been found in CCTV.

The coach asked him to stop and told him to crack his back, but he refused. In the coach, he was forced to lie down on the bed and did inappropriate things with his hands. The coach threatened to ruin his career if he protested.
The coach had left even the car behind The victim also told that the coach threatened her and asked her to behave normally as before. After which at around 4 pm the coach came to drop him to the car below the hotel. From the hotel she went straight to her father’s office. From where she reached her home with her father, but due to fear she did not tell anything to anyone. The footage of the hotel is testifying that the coach reached the car.
Tried to make everything seem normal After this, the accused coach kept sending him messages related to shooting like before. The coach complained about her to her parents and said – I am taking things less. After which the shooter told the whole story when the mother asked repeatedly.
Shooting since 2017 The shooter has been practicing shooting since she was about 9 years old i.e. 2017. Started training with coach Ankush from July 2025 itself. The coach used to call him sometimes to Patiala, Mohali and sometimes to Dehradun for shooting practice. Earlier she used to return home every evening. On the day of the incident, she had left home alone in a personal taxi for Dr. Karni Singh Shooting Range in Delhi.
The coach has been a gold medalist Accused coach Ankush Bhardwaj was made the national coach of India. After this incident, the National Rifle Association of India suspended the accused coach Ankush Bhardwaj. The association says that Ankush will remain suspended until the investigation is completed.
