Gajendra Chauhan has expressed strong objection to the statement of actor Naseeruddin Shah amid the ongoing student movement at Satyajit Ray Film and Television Institute (SRFTI). Actually, Naseeruddin Shah had abused BJP, on this Gajendra Chauhan said that Naseeruddin Shah should be ashamed of saying so. Gajendra Chauhan advised Naseeruddin to give right advice to the students instead of criticizing the government. He said that Naseeruddin is a great artist, but always talks one-sidedly on political issues. 140 crore people elected him, it is sad to use abusive language. Gajendra Chauhan said that it is very sad to use abusive language against the party which has been elected to power by 140 crore people of the country. He said that Naseeruddin Shah should be ashamed of using such words. Gajendra Chauhan said that Naseeruddin Shah has a big stature in the acting world and is a good person, but through social media videos and posts, he often presents only one side of an issue. Said on student agitation – Solution will emerge only through dialogue. Talking about the ongoing performance of students in SRFTI, Gajendra Chauhan said that the administration of the institute is capable of solving the problems of the students. He said that it is the right of the students to protest, but unless both the parties sit face to face and talk, no solution will be found in the indefinite agitation. Chauhan said that the leaders and workers have earned the trust of the public through hard work, hence instead of attacking the government, students should be advised to adopt the path of dialogue. Naseeruddin Shah abused BJP. Naseeruddin Shah shared a video on his Instagram story on Saturday. The actor alleged that after the victory in the West Bengal elections, BJP is taking action against those who do not agree with its ideology and policies. He also raised the issue of students of Satyajit Ray Film and Television Institute. Shah said in the video that the students of the institute were demanding answers from the administration. Instead, they were given show cause notices, kept under surveillance and threatened. He also said that students have been asked to vacate the hostel. The actor accused BJP of promoting propaganda in its favor and trying to intimidate those who disagree or change their thinking. Dharna in SRFTI demanding resignation of VC, what is the whole matter? Actually, students of Kolkata’s Satyajit Ray Film and Television Institute (SRFTI) have been protesting for 25 days. They are protesting against the alleged violence on campus, lack of security and action of the administration. Students have also boycotted the class. The protest began after an alleged clash during an event on September 27. The students are demanding increased security on the campus, action against those responsible for the violence and withdrawal of the notice issued against them. They also want the resignation of the institute’s Vice Chancellor Santosh Ajmera. Students say that it is wrong not to provide them necessary facilities. At the same time, the institute had issued a notice on 16 October and stopped the studies till 13 November. Also, students were ordered to vacate the hostel within 24 hours. The students refused to accept this order. On the other hand, the administration alleges that some students were staying in the hostel even after completing the course and were preventing junior students from attending classes. The administration had also suspended six students on October 15. They are accused of breaking discipline including assaulting teachers and security staff.
