In Dharamshala, Himachal, Tibetan spiritual leader His Holiness the Dalai Lama has congratulated Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on his success in the Bihar Assembly elections. He wrote a letter praising Nitish’s leadership and his efforts to save the ancient Indian knowledge tradition.

In this letter sent from Thekchen Choeling in Dharamshala, the Dalai Lama recalled the warmth and hospitality shown by Nitish Kumar during his visits to Bihar, especially Bodh Gaya, over the years. He expressed his gratitude for Nitish’s cooperation in preserving the Nalanda tradition and promoting Indian philosophy.
The Dalai Lama said in his letter that India’s philosophy of compassion and non-violence is an inspiration for the entire world. He expressed hope that Bihar will keep these human values alive not only in its state but in the entire country.
The spiritual leader also wrote that Bihar has made remarkable progress in many fields over the years. However, he stressed that the real success of development is only when it reaches the poor and the needy.
At the end of the letter, Dalai Lama wished for a bright and successful tenure of Nitish Kumar. He said that he prays to God for strength and guidance in every effort to improve the lives of the people of Bihar.
