The Meteorological Department has issued a heavy rain alert in 20 states including Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Chhattisgarh on Wednesday (September 4). Very heavy rains are expected only in Gujarat.
Floods caused by rain continue to wreak havoc in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. Rescue operations continued in the flood-affected areas of both states on Tuesday as well. NDRF, SDRF, Air Force, Navy and local administration remained engaged in helping the people trapped in the floods.
In Andhra Pradesh, 30 teams of NDRF and 6 helicopters of Air Force are engaged in relief work. 120 motor boats are continuously helping the people. CM Chandrababu Naidu is also continuously present at ground zero. He himself is visiting the flood affected areas and reviewing the rescue operation. He has instructed the officers and employees to help the people trapped in the flood in every possible way. They should not be allowed to face any shortage of food and water.
Many national highways in the state have been flooded. Railway services are also disrupted. The situation in Krishna and Guntur districts is very bad. Due to the water released from Budameru Dam, Singhnagar, Nandamuri Nagar and other low lying areas of Vijayawada were flooded. About 2 lakh people living here had to take shelter on the roofs of buildings.
Here, Telangana government employees donated their one day’s salary i.e. about Rs 130 crore for the flood affected people. They handed over the cheque to CM Revanth Reddy. Tollywood actor and TDP MLA N Balakrishna announced to donate Rs 50 lakh each to Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.

Madhya Pradesh: There is a possibility of rain for the next two days
The Meteorological Department said that from September 5, a low pressure area is becoming active in the Bay of Bengal. The monsoon trough is passing through Raisen, Chhindwara of the state. The activity of the cyclonic circulation system continues. Due to this, there is heavy rain in the state. This system will remain active for the next 2 days. However, the system will move forward after Tuesday.
After July and August, the water level of the state’s big dams has increased in September as well. The gates of Bhopal’s three dams Kaliyasot, Kerwa and Bhadbhada have been opened once again. The three gates of Narmadapuram’s Tawa Dam have also been opened by 4-4 feet. More than 40 inches of water has fallen in 10 districts of the state.
Mandla has received the highest rainfall of 47.19 inches. Apart from Mandla, the top 10 districts with the highest rainfall include Seoni, Chhindwara, Sidhi, Narmadapuram, Sheopur, Bhopal, Dindori, Raisen and Sagar.
Rajasthan: Yellow alert for rain in many districts
According to the Meteorological Center Jaipur, the monsoon trough line is currently going to the Bay of Bengal via Jaisalmer, Raisen, Chhindwara. Cyclonic circulation is formed over northern Haryana.
Due to the effect of this system, it is raining in the north-eastern and southern parts of Rajasthan. He said that the monsoon is likely to remain active in Rajasthan for the next one week. A yellow alert for rain has been issued in many districts.
Himachal Pradesh: 78 roads including 2 national highways closed, 153 deaths so far
The State Emergency Operations Center (SEOC) said that a total of 78 roads including National Highways 5 and 707 remained closed in Himachal Pradesh after rain on Tuesday. There was intermittent rain in many districts of the state. During this time, landslides occurred at many places, but no one was injured.
The Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert for thunderstorms and lightning at different places in the state for today. Officials said that so far 153 people have died in rain-related incidents this season.
