The Meteorological Department has issued a heavy rain alert in 19 states of the country including Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh on Saturday (September 7). Very heavy rains are expected in Rajasthan, Gujarat, Maharashtra and Goa.

Rainfall in Rajasthan broke the record of 13 years. This season, from 1st June to 6th September, 615.5 mm rainfall has occurred. The average rainfall here is only 394.9 mm. Due to rain in Ajmer, school holidays have been declared on 7th-8th September.

4 people died in the state on Friday. This includes a grandfather and granddaughter. They were struck by lightning. The impact of rain was not much in Madhya Pradesh on Friday. Rain was seen only in 7 districts.

According to the Meteorological Department, there will be no rain till September 10, but after that there is a possibility of rain returning again. The Meteorological Department has issued an alert of heavy rain in 7 districts of Gujarat for the next seven days.

NDRF teams have so far rescued 350 people in Andhra Pradesh. About 15 thousand people were taken to relief camps. 68 people were rescued in Telangana and about 3200 people were taken to relief camps.
