Iran has arrested about 24 people in the case of the death of Hamas chief Ismail Haniyeh. These include many Iranian intelligence officers, military officers and guest house staff. This is the same guest house where Haniyeh was attacked.

According to the New York Times, Iran has made these arrests in view of the lapse in Haniyeh’s security. Actually, Haniyeh had gone to attend the swearing-in ceremony of Iran’s President Masoud Pazshkian. The security of the guest house where he was staying is the responsibility of Iran’s army IRGC.

At the same time, British media house The Telegraph has claimed in its report that Israel’s intelligence agency Mossad is behind the killing of Haniyeh. According to the report, Mossad had hired Iran’s own security agents for this work.

In fact, to avenge the death of the Hamas chief, Iran’s Supreme Leader Khamenei has threatened to directly attack Israel. He has said that Haniyeh died in Tehran, so it is Iran’s duty to avenge his blood.

However, information about when and how Iran will launch this attack is not known. In view of the threat of war between Israel and Iran, many airlines have stopped flights to Israel. These include Greece, Poland, Netherlands as well as India’s Air India company.
