On Friday, 8 people died in a road accident in Valparai, Tamil Nadu, while 5 people were seriously injured. The accident occurred when the tempo traveler lost control, slipped from the hairpin turn and fell into the ditch. According to the police, the vehicle was returning from Valparai carrying 13 tourists from Perinthalmanna in Kerala. At the 13th hairpin turn, the vehicle lost its balance and slipped and fell till the 9th hairpin turn. In the accident, 1 man and 7 women died on the spot. He said that he is extremely saddened by this accident and expressed condolences to the families of the deceased. He wished for the speedy recovery of the injured.
