On Monday (August 19), junior doctors in Kolkata staged a protest against the rape-murder of a trainee doctor.

A page from the diary has increased the suspense in the case of rape and murder of a 31-year-old trainee doctor at Kolkata’s RG Kar Medical College. The deceased’s father told Dainik Bhaskar on Monday (August 19) that his daughter used to write the events of the day in her diary every day.

She had written a few pages during the day on 9th August at RG Kar Medical College. She had taken a photo of one of these pages and sent it to me. This page is also missing from the diary found by the police. The father did not say anything about what was written on this page. He only said that the daughter had mentioned the current condition of the hospital.

Based on the father’s statement, the CBI team reached his house on Monday afternoon and took a photo of that page. The father alleged that he has proof that many important pages of the diary were torn by the police.

The CBI reached the victim’s house on Monday (August 19). During this time, security personnel were deployed outside.

The former principal had deleted the call records a week ago

A week before the incident, the accused had deleted the call records and messages from his phone. Many numbers were also deleted from the phone. The CBI is now recovering this data from the phone.

CBI did not get answers to 7 questions from Ghosh
CBI has been questioning him for 4 days, but there are about 7 questions to which Ghosh has not been able to give clear answers. An officer said that Ghosh is not telling how he allowed other doctors and staff to enter the seminar hall after getting the information about the dead body?

The investigation also revealed that evidence was destroyed deliberately. The people who first reached the seminar hall had touched the dead body. Due to this, many marks in the room have been damaged. When Ghosh was asked about the people who went to the room, he said that he did not know.

He also did not explain why the police were informed two hours late. In this case, the local police is under suspicion of the CBI because they did not register a case of unnatural death.

The agency is trying to find out if this was done at Ghosh’s behest? How did the repair work start the very next day after breaking the wall of the seminar hall?

CBI still has no clue where the murder took place

RG Kar Medical College student shared this video on X. He alleged that vandalism was being done to destroy evidence.

The investigating agency has so far questioned 60 people including the former head of the chest medicine department, several colleagues of the deceased and drivers. A CBI official told Bhaskar that the body was found in the seminar hall, but the investigation could not prove where the trainee doctor was murdered. It is certain that the incident was committed by more than one person.

There were injuries on head, cheek, knee, jaw, nose, private parts… 25 places
In the postmortem report of the deceased, 16 deep injuries were found on the outside and 9 inside the body of the trainee doctor. These include head, cheeks, lips, nose, right jaw, chin, left hand, left shoulder, left knee, ankle and private parts. There was blood accumulation in the lungs.

The report uses the words penetration/insertion. This means that rape took place. She was strangulated to death. Some fluid was found in the endocervical canal of the deceased, which has been sent for forensic examination. The mother of the deceased had alleged that many bones of her daughter, including her hands, were broken, but this is not mentioned in the post-mortem report.

Former principal’s political influence: No one can touch the chair
Dr Ghosh, who resigned from the post of principal after the murder of the trainee doctor, was made the principal of Calcutta National Medical College in 2021. On 9 February 2021, RG Kar was transferred as the principal.

On May 31, 2023, the Bengal government issued an order to appoint Dr. Sanath Ghosh as the new principal of RG Kar. However, goons called by Dr. Sandeep locked the principal’s cabin and Dr. Sanath could not take over.

The order was reversed after 20 hours. On September 11, 2023, the new principal Dr. Manas Kumar Bandopadhyay could not take charge. On October 9, 2023, Ghosh was reinstated by a government order.

His status is such that a crowd of goons can be gathered with just one phone call
Dr. Sandeep Ghosh has been in the news because of his lifestyle. On the instructions of the Home Department, 20 security personnel were deployed in the hospital, out of which 6 to 8 guards always remained in the security of Ghosh. Whenever Ghosh used to go out of the room, 6 to 8 security guards used to remain with him.

Two hospital employees used to walk in front blowing whistles so that the way would be clear. If anyone spoke against Dr. Ghosh, a mob of goons would come and admit him in the same hospital. His neighbor told that once he had kicked his own wife in the stomach after her cesarean delivery, due to which the cesarean stitches opened.

Unclaimed bodies used to come to the lab on Ghosh’s instructions: Trainee doctor
A trainee doctor of the same hospital said that the unclaimed bodies brought to the hospital for post mortem were sent to the lab for practical on the instructions of Ghosh. There have been allegations against him of providing protection to human organ trafficking. The issue was raised many times, but due to his high connections, the cases were suppressed.
