This is the first time that a Canadian official has openly taken the name of an Indian government minister.

Washington Post had taken the name of the Home Minister On October 14, American media house Washington Post, quoting Canadian officials, had claimed that Home Minister Amit Shah and Indian intelligence agency RAW had jointly given permission to gather intelligence in Canada and attack Khalistani terrorists.

The Indian Ministry of External Affairs and the Indian High Commission in Canada had no immediate comment on the matter. However, the Indian government has refused to be involved in any way, terming all such previous allegations of Canada as baseless.

The next day, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau accused Indian government agents of gathering intelligence, target killing, threatening Canadian citizens and indulging in violence.

Canadian Police had said, Indian agents collected many information ​​​​Canadian Police Commissioner Mike Duheme also held a press conference on October 14. He had said in it that Indian diplomats and officials in Canada have misused their position and secretly collected information for the Indian government. For this, Indian officials used agents.

The official said that some of these agents were threatened and pressurized into working with the Indian government. He said that the information collected by India is used to target South Asian people.

Police officials in Canada alleged the next day on October 16 that Khalistanis and people of South Asian origin were targeted by the Lawrence Group. Brigitte Gauvin, assistant commissioner at the RCMP, a Canadian police department, said the Indian government has used the Lawrence Group.

Canadian police had made many serious allegations against India in the press conference.
