The US government can decide to use a new name for a place in its official documents, government maps and records. But this does not mean that other countries will also be forced to accept that name. The Atlantic and Pacific Oceans extend from North to South America. Therefore this ocean is connected to many countries. Therefore, even if the US government starts calling it ‘Trump Ocean’ in its documents, other countries and international organizations will not be forced to automatically adopt the US name.
