US Finance Minister Scott Besant has again threatened to impose extra tariffs on India. Talking to Bloomberg, he said- This tariff will depend on the outcome of the meeting of US President Donald Trump and Russian President Putin to be held in Alaska on Friday.
The US is trying to mediate for a ceasefire between Russia-Ukraine. Trump will talk to Putin about this. Trump had warned on Wednesday that if Moscow did not agree to the peace agreement, he would have to face serious consequences.
At the same time, 25% of American tariffs are applicable on India’s imports. Apart from this, 25% extra tariff on oil and weapon purchase from Russia will be applicable from August 27. After this, India will be charged a total of 50% tariff.

Putin-Tram will meet in Alaska on August 15
US President Trump will meet Russian President Putin in Alaska on 15 August. Its purpose is to eliminate the battle for three and a half years in Ukraine.
If Trump and Putin meet, this will be the first time that the two leaders will meet on the US land. Russia had earlier suggested UAE to meet Putin and Trump. However, Trump later chose Alaska for the meeting.

Besant said- India stubborn in trade conversation
The US alleges that India is supporting Ukraine Jung by purchasing oil from Russia. In a statement to Fox News, Besant described India as stubborn in business discussion.
Trade conversation between India and America stopped this month. Trump stopped the discussion with Russia due to India’s trade and other issues. Now on August 25, US officials will come to India and the conversation can start again before 50% tariff is implemented on August 27.
However, according to media reports, India’s not allowing American dairy can become a hindrance in this conversation.
India is not ready to take non -vegetarian cow’s milk
The US wants its dairy products such as milk, cheese, ghee to be imported into India. India is the largest milk producing country in the world and crores of small farmers are engaged in this sector.
The Indian government is afraid that if American dairy products come to India, they can cause huge damage to local farmers. Apart from this, religious sentiments are also attached.
In the US, cows are added to animal bones (eg ranet) to their food for better nutrition. India considers the milk of such cows as ‘non -veg milk’ ie non -vegetarian milk.

India’s condition is that any dairy product can only be sold in India when it is proved that it is made from a vegetarian source.
Trump imposed a total of 50% tariff on India
US President Donald Trump announced to impose 25% extra tariff on India on 6 August. He signed the executive order associated with it. This order will be applicable from August 27.
The executive order states that this action has been taken on India due to Russian oil purchases. Earlier, he announced 25% tariff on India on 30 July. Now India will have a total of 50% tariff. The Indian Ministry of External Affairs has denied this action as wrong.
According to the report of Hindustan Times, now in response to this, India is also considering imposing up to 50% tariff on selected American products.
If this happens, it will be India’s first formal retaliation on the tariff of American President Donald Trump.
