US President Donald Trump has spoken to PM Modi on phone. This conversation between the two leaders is considered important. US Ambassador to India Sergio Gore has given this information by tweeting. At present, official information regarding the issues of talks has not been revealed.
It is being speculated in media reports that in this conversation it is possible to discuss issues related to India-US relations, global situation and mutual cooperation. There is also a possibility of talks regarding strategic, economic and security cooperation between the two countries.
This conversation between President Trump and PM Modi took place at a time when many major developments were going on at the international level. At the same time, today Trump had posted two pictures related to India on his social media Truth Social. In one, he shared a photo of India Gate, while in the other he shared the cover of a magazine with PM Modi.
Trump will build a door like India Gate in America
While sharing the picture of India Gate, Trump wrote that India’s Triumphal Arch is very beautiful. Our one will be the coolest of them all!
Actually, Trump is planning to build a huge door in his name in the capital Washington DC. This monument has been named ‘Arc de Trump’. It will be used to enter the capital from the state of Virginia.
Its design is similar to the Arc de Triomphe of Paris. A senior White House official told CNN a few months ago that the idea of this arch was Trump himself. Trump was also involved in the process of designing this arch.


Trump has shared a magazine with his cover image with PM Modi. This magazine was published on 19 January 2026.
Trump-Modi spoke on phone 7 times in 13 months
PM Modi had talked to Trump over phone in December before today. Then PM Modi shared this information by posting it on social media. Modi had said that their conversation was warm and positive.
He had told that both the leaders reviewed the progress made in the relations between the two countries. Also discussed regional and international issues. Modi said that India and America will continue to work together for global peace, stability and prosperity.
In the conversation, the need to increase trade between the two countries was emphasized. It was also agreed to take forward partnership in areas like important technology, energy, defense and security.
Since Trump became President, he and PM Modi have now spoken on phone 7 times. First of all, on January 27, 2025, PM Modi called Trump to congratulate him on becoming the President.
On April 22, Trump had called Modi and expressed grief after the terrorist attack in Pahalgam. After this, Trump called Modi on June 17 to invite him, on September 17 to wish him a happy birthday and on October 21 to wish him a happy Diwali. Then on December 11, both the leaders talked.
Trump had said yesterday- India will buy oil from Venezuela instead of Iran.
Trump had given a statement regarding India only yesterday. He had said that instead of buying crude oil from Iran, India will now buy oil from Venezuela. Trump had claimed that India has made a deal to buy oil from Venezuela.
Trump made this statement while talking to reporters in Air Force One from Washington DC. However, there is no official response from the Government of India on this yet.
Trump had said yesterday, “We have already made a deal. India will buy oil from Venezuela, not from Iran.”
