Last year, a Nepali artist had painted a picture of Ram Sita’s marriage.
If there is a determination to do something with creative thinking, then a new chapter is bound to begin. One such chapter has been created by the thinking of young artists in the field of art in Tonk city, which is called the city of Nawabs. This incident happened about 18 years ago. tonk city ku
.
Started organizing Kalaparva in 2007 under his vision. Initially 100 artists were able to join. Every year 400-500 artists from across the country participate in this three-day program. In the last two years, the interest of foreign artists has also increased.
It is noteworthy that Tonk resident painter Dr. Hanuman Singh had gone with his friends to participate in an art camp in Ujjain in 2006. Where he saw the art camp, he prepared its concept. It has started becoming the identity of Rajasthan in the field of art. A three-day art festival is being organized every year in Tonk city for 18 years. Kalaparv has made its mark at the international level on the strength of the hard work and dedication of the artists. 400-500 artists from India and abroad have started coming to this art festival.
Painter Shaista Khan said that the art festival will be held from 7 to 9 November 2025. This time Russian artists will also participate. Mahesh Gurjar and other painters said that a big medium for exchange of art is being created. In 18 years, more than 8 thousand artists have come to participate in this art festival. Artists come here from almost all the states of the country. This time too, consent has been received for the arrival of artists from many countries including Nepal. Those who are unable to come, can be added online as before.
Artists from many states including Nepal, UP, Bihar, Haryana, Jammu Kashmir, Delhi, Himachal, Arunachal Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, MP, Assam, Gujarat, West Bengal have been coming to this art festival. Painters, sculptors and many other art lovers also gather here. There is also a competition in the program. In this, school and college students contribute by painting their art colors on canvas. Artists and senior artists who provide art patronage are also honored here.
The biggest feature of this art festival, which is being organized without any government support, is that with the help of some Bhamashahs, the artists are continuing the struggle journey of this art at their own expense. This happened online even during the Corona period.
This time also more than 500 artists will participate
This time the organizers hope that more than 500 artists from India and abroad will participate in the art festival. However, organizing such a big event every year is not an easy task. But when the artists are determined, organizing this event has not been difficult for them, but still this event is feeling the need of support from the state government. So that this art festival, which has gained international recognition with the hard work, dedication and courage of young artists, can be converted into an international Mahakumbh. Along with painting and sculpture, many endangered arts including the calligraphy art of Tonk, which has its own international recognition, can also be encouraged.
