India’s javelin thrower and Tokyo Olympian Shivpal Singh has been banned for 10 years after being found guilty of doping for the second time. The National Anti-Doping Agency (NADA) disciplinary panel handed down the punishment after he tested positive for the banned substance methandienone. For 31 year old Shivpal, this ban is considered to be the end of his career.
Shivpal Won silver medal in the 2019 Asian Championship with a personal best of 86.23 metres. He has also represented India in the Tokyo Olympics.

Was caught in doping in 2021 too, was sentenced for 1 year of 4 years
Shivpal’s sample came positive for steroids in an out-of-competition test conducted in 2021. In August 2022, the disciplinary panel of NADA found him guilty and banned him for 4 years.
