The Victory Day Parade will be held today at Tianmen Square, China, the capital of China. This parade is being held on the 80th anniversary of Japan’s defeat in China during the Second World War. According to media reports, China will present Japan’s defeat as its major victory.

The event will include leaders from 25 countries including Russia, Pakistan and Iran. China can also use it to show the solidarity of global South against Western countries and demonstrate its military strength.

The fight between China and Japan began in 1937. Japan then attacked China and captured a large part of it. The Japanese army massacred the city of Nanjing in China, killing around 3 lakh people. This fight is considered part of the second world war that began in 1939.

Japan later surrendered on 15 August 1945 after the US nuclear attacks, after which it also accepted a defeat against China on 2 September 1945.

China is calling Japan’s defeat its big victory

China is presenting Japan’s defeat as its major victory in recent months. He says that he and the Soviet Union (USSR) contributed the most to the war, while ignoring the role of Western countries like America and Europe.

Jinping wants people to see the second world war from the perspective of China. He attended a ceremony in Russia in May 2025. During this, Jinping said in an article that China and USSR played a lead role in war against Japan and Germany. He did not mention America or Europe.

Films made on Nanjing massacre are also bringing this history to the people. China has also made a film called ‘Dead to Rights’ to show the Nanjing massacre. Released in July 2025, the film earned 50 crore yuan (about 430 crore rupees) in the first four days.

China will perform more than 100 fighter jets

This parade is a major platform to show China’s military power and global effects. This will include thousands of soldiers, more than 100 fighter jets and hundreds of military equipment.

During the parade, China will bring many new weapons to the world. These include the J-20 (5th generation stealth fighter jet), FH-97 Combat Drone (Supersonic Drone) and hypersonic missiles.

Apart from this, inter-contactal ballistic missiles like DF-41 and DF-31ag will be shown, which can kill from 12000 to 15000 km.

China will also demonstrate anti-Ship missiles like YJ-15 and YJ-20. The parade will also feature guided laser weapons, electronic jamming systems and underwater drones, which increase China’s strengths around Taiwan and in the South China Sea.

The J-20 has been developed by Chengdu Aerospace Corporation. It is also called Miti Dragon. Its maximum speed is 2.55 Mac (about 2,468 km/h). It can fly up to 5926 km.

China will warn Taiwan and Western countries

According to media reports, this parade is not just a performance of military power, but also an attempt to strengthen China’s position on the global platform. President Jinping wants to warn Taiwan and Western countries through this parade that China is ready for any war.

This parade is also an attempt to strengthen the alliances of Russia, China, Iran and North Korea against Western countries. Only Serbia and Slovakia will participate in this program from Western countries.

UG, an expert at the Chautham House of Britain, says that Jinping wants to show the world through this parade that he wants to do global leadership. Jinping believes that the world needs a system that China should lead and many non-Western countries support it.

This program is taking place at a time when the world is struggling with Trump’s tariff policies and aggressive foreign policy. In such a situation, China has a chance to mobilize more and more countries of the world in its favor.

Russian President Putin has been in China since August 30. He will join the Victory Day Parade today.

North Korea’s Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un arrived in China to attend the Victory Day Parade by his special train.

Only Serbia and Slovakia leaders will join this parade from Western countries. Slovakia Prime Minister Robert Fico arrived in China yesterday.
