There was snowfall in Sonamarg of Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday. Due to this a drop in temperature was recorded. Fresh snowfall was recorded in Lahaul Spiti and Manali of Himachal Pradesh. The Indian Meteorological Department had already issued warnings for the hilly areas for the next few days.
A warning of rain and snowfall has been issued in the plains in Uttarakhand even today. There are also chances of storm here. This warning has been issued for today and the next two days. During this period the wind speed is likely to be 30-50 km per hour.
Heat wave has started in Rajasthan in March itself. It affected the areas of Jaisalmer, Barmer and Balotra on Wednesday. The maximum temperature here was recorded at 39 to 41 degrees. In view of the intense heat in the coming days, the Health Department has issued guidelines to prevent heatwave. However, there will be no effect of heatwave on Thursday. A yellow alert for storm and rain has also been issued in 8 districts on March 14.
