Faisal Patel praised PM Modi, saying India is secure and is in safe hands. He acknowledged challenges like inflation and unemployment but said the leadership is doing a good job.

Faisal Patel, son of late Congress stalwart Ahmed Patel, has praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi, saying that India is in “safe hands” owing to the strength of its Armed Forces and Navy.
Faisal Patel also acknowledged issues such as inflation and unemployment, and said the leaders were “doing a good job” in steering the nation through challenges.
Speaking on the current leadership, and responding to a question on whether the country is in safe hands, Faisal Patel said, “Our country is in safe hands because of our Armed Forces and the Navy.”
“I feel that the leaders who are running the country right now, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, and BJP’s Sudhanshu Trivedi, are working hard,” Patel said.
“We have our problems like inflation, unemployment, and others, but they are doing a good job,” he added.
Faisal Patel also weighed in on the current state of affairs in Congress and said that the top leaders who are running the party are not getting the right advice.
His remarks praising the Centre’s handling of ‘Operation Sindoor‘, which was in retaliation for the Pahalgam terrorist attack that killed 26 civilians, came amid the Congress’s criticism against the BJP-led government for how it handled the Operation.
“It can’t be better than who’s running the show (the central government),” he said.
“The armed forces have done a great job, and Prime Minister Narendra Modi showed great leadership and brought us out of a huge crisis. It’s a big deal. I am proud of our armed forces. I have a lot of respect for Jaishankar ji,” he added.
“How Modi ji picks up bureaucrats and makes them leaders and puts them in Ministry roles, is a very good thing,” Ahmed Patel’s son said.
Patel said the party is facing problems internally with the advice of capable and senior leaders not being heeded.
“Rahul Gandhi is a hardworking leader. There are some very bright and intelligent leaders in the Congress, like (Congress MP) Shashi Tharoor, (Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister) DK Shivakumar(Telangana Chief Minister) Revanth Reddy, (Congress MP) Deepender Hooda, and (Rajasthan’s former Deputy Chief Minister) Sachin Pilot,” Patel said.
“They are very capable leaders. There are problems internally, and I believe the right advice is not given to seniors who are running the party. Their advisors are not doing a good job. They come and go. The senior leaders’ advice is not heeded,” he said.
Patel also said that he is still with Congress, adding that he has taken a sabbatical from public life.
“I am not upset with the Congress at all. The whole party is my family, and I have good relations with the senior leaders of the party. I am still in the Congress party, I have not left Congress; I have just taken a sabbatical from public life,” Patel said.
“I just exist in Congress. The people of Gujarat and the local leaders have wonderful things to say about me,” he said.
On August 10, defence experts said that ‘Operation Sindoor’ achieved the objectives it was launched for.
They also said the operation was paused to avoid a prolonged conflict, which would have hurt the domestic economy.
Several retired army officers shared their thoughts as a video of an address by Army Chief Gen Upendra Dwivedi at a recent IIT-Madras event was widely reported and shared on social media, in which he shared some intricacies of the military action.
The Army chief used the analogies of chess and cricket to emphasise the key aspect of the operation launched in May on terror infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir in retaliation for the April 22 Pahalgam attack.
The operation led to a four-day military conflict between India and Pakistan that was halted after an understanding was reached between the two sides on May 10.
