South cinema superstar Chiranjeevi filed a complaint with the Hyderabad Cyber ​​Crime Police on Saturday regarding some of his deepfake videos. This complaint has been made regarding his fake porn videos being shown on some adult websites.

On Monday, officials said that all these videos have been made with deepfake technology i.e. Artificial Intelligence (AI) so that they appear real.

According to NDTV, based on the actor’s complaint, a case was registered at the Cyber ​​Crime Police Station on October 25 under relevant sections of the IT Act, BNS and Indecent Representation of Women (Prohibition) Act 1986. A police officer said that investigation into the case is continuing.

In his 5-page complaint, Chiranjeevi said that these fake videos have been uploaded on at least three websites. Money is being earned from these clips and they are being shown in a wrong and obscene manner. He wrote that in the fake video he was shown with a Bollywood actress.

Chiranjeevi also said in the complaint that these fake videos have damaged his image built after years of hard work. This fake and objectionable content is not only wrong but has caused mental distress to him and his family.

The actor has appealed to the police to take strict action against those who make, upload and spread such videos. Also, such content should be immediately removed from the internet.

It is noteworthy that recently Chiranjeevi had also filed a petition in Hyderabad City Civil Court for the protection of his personality rights. The court accepted his petition and ordered that no one will be able to use his name, photo or voice without his permission. Chiranjeevi has also attached the court order of September 26 in his complaint.

In fact, recently Chiranjeevi’s legal team had issued an official note, in which it was said that trolling the actor, morphing his photo and using AI would be a punishable offence.

According to the court order, using Chiranjeevi’s popular nicknames like Megastar, Chiru or Annayya, or his image in any creative or promotional format without prior consent is a punishable offence.

The Court considered Chiranjeevi to be one of the most respected artists in the Indian film industry, whose reputation and public respect has been harmed by the defendants’ actions – particularly naming, imaging, video-memes and merchandise without consent.

The order said that such misuse and misrepresentation, especially through digital and AI platforms, can cause huge and irreparable damage to Chiranjeevi’s reputation and earnings.
