There is a difference of opinion going on between Congress leader Vijay Wadettiwar and MP Pratibha Dhanorkar in Chandrapur.
Political turmoil has intensified after the municipal elections in Maharashtra. On Friday, 13 out of 27 Congress councilors formed their own separate faction in Chandrapur Municipal Corporation. This group was registered in the Divisional Commissioner’s office located in Nagpur under the leadership of Sudarshan Adabale.
Local Congress MP Pratibha Dhanorkar was also present during the registration of the group. At the same time, the remaining 14 councilors of Congress also reached the Divisional Commissioner’s office and objected to this registration.
According to sources, this tussle is believed to be related to the ongoing differences between senior Congress leader Vijay Wadettiwar and MP Pratibha Dhanorkar.
Congress won maximum number of councilors in Chandrapur.

In the municipal elections held on January 15, BJP got 23 seats and Congress 27 seats in the 66-member Chandrapur Municipal Corporation. The support of 34 councilors is necessary for majority in the corporation.
Two councilors of Uddhav group missing in Kalyan-Dombivli
Here, two councilors of Shiv Sena (UBT) are out of contact in Kalyan-Dombivli Municipal Corporation area of Thane district. The party says that the mobile phones of both are switched off and they cannot be contacted. A complaint has been made to the police in this matter.
Kalyan district head of Shiv Sena (UBT) Sharad Shivraj Patil said that the phones of councilors Madhur Umesh Mhatre and Kirti Rajan Dhone are being switched off. Despite interrogating family members and party workers, no trace of either of them could be found.
Patil has filed a complaint at Kolsewadi police station and registered a missing person case in relation to both of them, demanding an impartial investigation. He said that this matter is not limited to personal security only, but is also related to democratic values, law and order and public trust.
Expressed fear of pressure from the other party
Sharad Shivraj Patil expressed apprehension that the possibility of pressure, fraud, kidnapping or any criminal activity could not be ruled out due to the sudden disconnection of the two.
Senior Inspector of Kolsewadi Police, Ganesh Nayande said that after receiving the complaint, investigation into the matter has been started.
In the elections held on January 15, Eknath Shinde’s Shiv Sena had got 52 seats, BJP 51 and Shiv Sena (UBT) 11 seats in the 122-member Kalyan-Dombivli Municipal Corporation (KDMC).
