ग्रीनलैंड पर ट्रम्प की धमकी का डेनमार्क PM को फायदा: अमेरिकी राष्ट्रपति को चैलेंज किया था, अब सर्वे में पार्टी को 9 सीटों का फायदा

Danish PM Mette Frederiksen has benefited from the dispute between America and Denmark over the occupation of Greenland. American website The Politico wrote that Frederickson should thank President Trump because he has taken him out of the deepening political crisis. There has been a huge surge in the popularity of Frederickson’s party. In the survey, Social Democrats were seen getting only 32 seats. This means that in a single month the party’s position has increased by about 9 seats. Last year in November 2025, the Social Democrat Party had lost the local elections. The biggest blow came in Copenhagen, where the party lost power for the first time in 100 years. The situation began to change when Trump threatened to annex Greenland from Denmark. In response, Denmark’s Prime Minister Frederiksen openly defended the country’s sovereignty. Frederiksen is running a coalition government. There are a total of 179 seats in the Parliament in Denmark, out of which Prime Minister Frederiksen’s Social Democrats have 50 seats. The centre-left Social Democrat Party is currently running a coalition government in the country. The coalition also includes two centre-right parties, the Moderates and Vensters. In a survey by a Danish consultancy named Megafon, the Social Democrat Party got 22.7% of the votes and 41 seats in parliament. This survey was conducted between 20 and 22 January. In the survey conducted in December, Frederiksen’s party was shown getting only 32 seats. Latest surveys show that even with 41 seats they will remain the largest party in Parliament. This will again put her in the strongest position in talks to form a coalition government, although she will have to depend on allies to remain in power. This increase in support for the party that lost in the capital for the first time in 100 years is being considered even more special because the Social Democrats had suffered a crushing defeat in the municipal elections held in November. In this election, the party had lost Copenhagen, which was a very important seat and which the party had never lost in the last 100 years. The Moderates Party, led by Danish Foreign Minister Lars Løkke Rasmussen, almost tripled its vote share in this survey. The party’s vote increased from 2.2% to 6.4%. This is equal to about 12 seats. At the same time, in a survey released on Monday by another agency Voxmeter, Fredrickson’s cabinet got 40.9% support, which is the highest level in two years. If elections are held today, the alliance is projected to win 73 seats. Trump threatened to occupy Greenland, later reversed. In early January, Trump had said that he would occupy Greenland by any means. Greenland is an autonomous region of Denmark. Trump had been threatening to capture it earlier also, but after capturing Venezuelan leader Nicolas Maduro, it started looking more serious. Frederiksen, in power since 2019, has mounted a vigorous diplomatic defense of Greenland and rallied countries across Europe on the issue. Trump had to say that he would not occupy Greenland by force. The benefit of this was that the people of Denmark have stood with the PM. Ann Rasmussen, an expert on political matters related to Europe, told Politico – The last time such solidarity with the government was seen in Denmark during the Covid epidemic. National crises often happen like this. People become supporters of the government in power. PM may get electoral benefit. According to the electoral law of Denmark, it is necessary to hold elections in the country before 1 November 2026. It is now believed that Frederickson will hold early elections to capitalize on her political advantage. Frederickson has risked early elections before. In 2022, amid falling support, he held snap elections and won. Rasmussen said that there is a high possibility that elections will be held in the country after a few months. Order to kill animal made PM Fredrickson bad in the eyes of people, she is considered an influential leader. However, due to taking many wrong decisions, his popularity in the country declined drastically. For example, to prevent the spread of Corona, he ordered the killing of 1.7 crore fur animals (minks). In fact, scientists had then claimed that due to mink, corona could spread across the country. However, after a few days the court declared it wrong. Farmers benefited from the expensive mink skin, which enabled fur business worth crores of rupees and provided livelihood to thousands of people. There was a huge decline in the popularity of the PM due to the killing of 1.7 crore mink. In a 2020 YouGov survey, Frederiksen’s popularity fell from 79% to just 34%. Leftist parties gain in Canada and Australia According to the report, this trend is not limited to Denmark only. Even in Canada and Australia, wherever leaders have openly opposed Trump, they have got electoral benefits. In Canada, the Conservative Party seemed to be winning the elections. In all the surveys, Pierre Poilievre was being considered as the next PM. But then Trump won the election again in America. He threatened to make Canada the 51st state of America. The advantage of this was that the Liberal Party won the elections and Mark Carney became PM. Whereas till a few months ago the situation of the Liberal Party was very bad. Justin Trudeau even had to resign from the post of PM. In fact, the Conservative Party came to be considered close to Trump and it was believed that he would not be able to show strictness in front of America. The Liberal Party, on the other hand, presented itself as a party defending Canada’s independence and self-respect. In Australia too, at one time it seemed that conservative (right-wing) parties were leading in the elections and the current government was in trouble. But now in many surveys, Anthony Albanese’s party seems to be getting the lead. ———— Also read this news… NATO said – Europe cannot protect itself without America: European leaders are just dreaming, if you have to go alone then increase the defense budget.
