The BJP-led NDA’s dominance across Uttar Pradesh’s regions was reflected in respondents’ recollection of how they voted in the 2024 Lok Sabha election, with the alliance ahead of SP-Congress in all seven regions covered by the News18 UP Mega Survey.

The NDA’s strongest showing was in the Doab region, where 71.1% of respondents recalled voting for the alliance. Ruhelkhand followed closely at 71%, while West UP recorded 69.8% and East UP 68.7%. In Awadh, the BJP-led alliance’s recalled vote share stood at 66%.

According to the News18 UP Mega Survey carried out in association with Pvalue Analytics, the alliance’s share was relatively lower in Bundelkhand and North East UP, at 59.9% and 60.4%, respectively. Even in these regions, however, it remained ahead of SP-Congress.

The regional figures show that the NDA’s recalled support was strongest in the Doab and Ruhelkhand, while its lowest share among the seven regions was in Bundelkhand. The pattern also points to differences in the Opposition’s regional presence, with SP-Congress performing relatively better in some parts of the state than in others.

North East UP Gives SP-Congress Its Strongest Showing

North East UP recorded the highest recalled vote share for SP-Congress among the seven regions, at 32.5%. Awadh followed at 27.6%, while East UP stood at 25.1%.

The alliance’s recalled share was lower in Bundelkhand, at 24.5%, and Ruhelkhand, at 21.4%. West UP recorded 18.9%, while the Doab had the lowest share at 16.1%.
