A rally for the release of the hostages was held on October 11 at Hostage Square in Tel Aviv, Israel.
The release of 48 hostages is expected to begin on Monday morning under the first phase of the Gaza ceasefire agreement, with 20 survivors and 28 bodies to be handed over. Israeli forces completed their initial withdrawal from Gaza by Friday afternoon, after which Hamas was given 72 hours.
On the other hand, Hamas has refused to attend the official signing ceremony (second phase) of the Gaza Peace Summit to be held in Egypt on Monday. Senior leader of the organization Hossam Badran said he disagrees with parts of US President Donald Trump’s plan.
Badran said, ‘The idea of expelling Palestinians (whether Hamas members or not) from their land is absurd.’ He described the negotiations for the second phase of the agreement as complex and difficult. A second Hamas official said that the organization’s disarmament (giving up weapons) is absolutely impossible, even if they give up power in Gaza.

Israel to release approximately 2,000 Palestinian prisoners. According to the Times of Israel, the International Committee of the Red Cross will oversee the exchange. The report said that if the conditions remain favourable, the release could start from Sunday night also.
American envoy said – it is difficult to find some dead bodies in Gaza
Meanwhile, US Special Envoy Steve Witkoff met the hostage families on Saturday. He said that some bodies may be very difficult to locate. There is deep concern among the families due to this matter.
According to CNN’s report, Israel already knew that the bodies of 7 to 15 hostages might not be found, although officials have not publicly confirmed this.

Palestinian Authority deputy chief to meet former British PM
On the other hand, Palestinian Authority deputy chief Hussein al-Sheikh said he would meet former British PM Tony Blair in Jordan on Sunday to discuss the future of Gaza.
According to the White House plan, Blair will lead an international body in Gaza that will take over administration there after the war.
Trump will reach Israel on Monday, will meet the hostages
US President Donald Trump will reach Israel on Monday morning and address the Parliament (Knesset) there. His visit may coincide with the release of Israeli citizens held hostage by Hamas in Gaza.
According to the Times of Israel, Trump will deliver a speech in the Knesset and meet the released hostages. The official said that there was a phone conversation between the Israeli and American teams on Friday.
According to Israeli officials, Trump will land at Ben Gurion Airport at 9:20 am and depart back at 1:00 pm. After being welcomed at the airport, he will go to the Knesset and address the parliament at 11:00 am. Before this, he will meet Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
Earlier Trump was scheduled to arrive on Sunday, but the visit was postponed by a day. He will also participate in the Peace Summit held in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt on Monday.
20 points of Trump’s ceasefire plan
- Stop the war immediately- If an agreement is reached between Israel and Hamas, the war in Gaza will end immediately.

In the first phase, decision was taken on ceasefire and army withdrawal.

Hamas not ready to give up weapons
Hamas said that the administration of Gaza is ready to hand over to any Palestinian group. It will be formed with the consent of the Palestinian people and the support of Arab-Islamic countries.
Hamas has made it clear that it wants to participate in the discussion on the future of the Palestinian people. The organization said that there should be debate on issues related to people’s rights.
Hamas politburo member Musa Abu Marzouk told Al Jazeera that it would not give up its weapons until the Israeli occupation of Gaza ends. He said that there should be talks once again on the issue of weapons.
He said, ‘We will hand over our weapons to the future Palestinian state and whoever rules Gaza will have our weapons in their hands.’
