A youth from village Ghangas, located near Khanna in Ludhiana district, died in America. There is chaos in the family after the news of the death of the young man. There is an atmosphere of mourning in the entire village. Mehak Singh, 29, resident of village Ghangas, went to Canada on April 1, 2024 in search of a better future and later moved to America. He was working at a store in Indiana, USA. Deceased’s father Uday Singh said that he last spoke to his son on April 15. At that time Mehak Singh was fine and was worrying about the family. Mehak’s aunt Sukhwinder Kaur told that there was a conversation with Mehak on April 21 also. He was talking normally and discussing preparations to get a driving license. After which, on the morning of April 22, the family received information about Mehak Singh’s death over phone. It is said that Mehak Singh died due to heart attack. Appeal for help from Central and Punjab Government: After this incident, the family faces the challenge of bringing Mehak’s body to India. Due to the weak financial condition of the family, they are not able to bear the expense of bringing back the dead body. The family wants Mehak to be cremated in her native village. The family has appealed for help from the Punjab and Central governments. At the same time, Shiromani Akali Dal’s Divisional Incharge Manjit Singh Madanipur also shared his grief with the family and demanded from the government to provide financial assistance to the victim’s family and concrete steps should be taken to bring Mehak’s body to India as soon as possible. MLA from Payal assembly constituency Manvinder Singh Giaspura said that he will help in bringing Mehak’s body to India by contacting the central government through CM Bhagwant Mann. At present the atmosphere of village Ghangas is very sad. Every eye is moist and the family is eagerly waiting to get the last glimpse of their loved one.
