Two people were killed in a shooting on Monday evening at the Chico branch of the Butte County Library in Northern California, USA. The suspect who was running away after the incident was arrested by the police. A child was also slightly injured in the firing. Police Chief Billy Aldridge said police received a 911 call just after 5 p.m. reporting gunshots and screaming coming from inside the library. As soon as the information was received, the police reached the spot. When the police entered the library, the suspect fled through the back door. However, additional security forces present behind the library took him into custody. A child injured in the incident has been sent to the hospital. His injuries are said to be minor. After the shooting, security was increased in the area and the roads around the library were closed for some time. The police have not yet made public the identity of the suspect. The names of the deceased will also be released only after their families are informed.
