Comedian Samay Raina’s name has been associated with comedian Sharon Verma for the last few days. Sharon Latent, who appeared as a contestant in the first season of India’s Got Latent, came as a panelist in the recently released episode of Season 2.

Before Sharon Verma, Samay’s name has also been linked to ’12th Fail’ actress Medha Shankar. Dating speculations started after he described Medha as his best friend in the show and treated her softly.

The first season of ‘India’s Got Latent’ remained in controversies
In February last year, the first season of Samay Raina’s show ‘India’s Got Latent’ was embroiled in controversy. Ranveer Allahabadia had made indecent remarks about parents in the show. After which many complaints were filed across the country against people associated with the show including Samay Raina. The matter reached the court and Samay Raina had to remove all the episodes of the show. Samay hasn’t posted any content for a long time.
On August 15, the Supreme Court canceled the cases registered against five people including comedian Samay Raina for their comments against the disabled. The Supreme Court praised these comedians for their efforts in bringing awareness to the disabled. On organizing chess tournament for the disabled and people suffering from serious diseases like Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA), the court said that these are talented youth.

After the controversy, Samay Raina made a comeback on 17 April 2026 with the stand-up comedy show Still Alive. In the show he talked about the controversy and the case. Samay became emotional in the middle of the show. This video has received more than 71 million views on his YouTube channel.
In June 2026, Netflix announced India’s Got Latent 2. On June 20, 2026, the first episode of Latent 2 was streamed simultaneously on Netflix and YouTube, in which Alia Bhatt and Sharvari Wagh arrived as panel guests.
The very first episode got more than 65 million views on YouTube alone.
