Most Muslim countries of the world condemned it when Israel attacked Iran on Thursday night last week. Saudi Arabia described Iran as its brother and said that Israeli’s attack weakens the sovereignty and security of Iran and is a violation of international laws. Turkey also condemned the attack and just said that Israel wants to push the entire region into war and the Middle East cannot bear another war.

Similarly, countries like Iran’s neighboring Muslim countries Egypt, Lebanon and Iraq also condemned the Israeli attack but no one has come with Iran openly against Israel. The Islamic Cooperation Organization, an organization of Muslim countries, has also not released any statement on this struggle.

Pakistan in an attempt to unite Muslim countries against Israel

Condemning the Israeli attack on Iran, Pakistan has urged Muslim countries to unite and support Iran. Pakistan’s Defense Minister Khwaja Asif said on Monday that his country is trying to unite the Muslim countries of the world in support of Iran to establish peace.

Pakistan Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif also appealed to the international community on Wednesday that there should be an immediate ceasefire between Iran and Israel, otherwise the deteriorating situation of the region will prove fatal not only for the Middle East but for the whole world.

On the one hand, Pakistan is showing support for Iran and is asking Muslims from all over the world to be united against Israel, on the other hand, its army chief General Asim Munir Munir is meeting Israeli’s biggest supporter and associates from US President Donald Trump in the White House.

This clearly shows the extent to which Pakistan stands with Iran.

21 Muslim countries together condemn the Israeli attack on Iran

On Tuesday, 21 Muslim countries issued a statement condemned the Israeli attack on Iran. In the condemnation proposal, these countries demanded that attacks on Iran’s nuclear bases be stopped, international rules and regulations should be respected and selected the path of diplomacy to settle disputes. Countries such as Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Kuwait Turkey, Egypt, Oman, Qatar, Kuwait, Sudan, Somalia, Pakistan, Brunei, Chad, Bahrain, Djibouti, Libya, Algeria include Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Kuwait Turkey, Egypt, Oman, Qatar, Kuwait, Sudan, Somalia, Pakistan, Algeria.

Muslim countries have condemned Israel by issuing a statement but no one has come openly with Iran. Experts say that Muslim countries are pretending to be with Iran and even if some countries want, they will not be able to help because they do not have that much ability. Muslim countries are also afraid that if they come with Iran, then they will be enmity with America and Israel, which is not in their interest in any way.

Talking to German Broadcaster DW, Fazzur Rahman, an expert in the Middle East Affairs, says, ‘There is not enough courage in these countries to directly challenge Israel. Listen to their statements, but they will take some steps, forget. This is just an attempt to save your face. These countries want to show that they also live in the world and can speak on such issues.

Shia-Sunni dispute is also a big issue

Iran is a Shia -dominated country and most of the Muslim countries of the world are Sunni Muslims. Iran has had a historical hostility with Saudi Arabia on the Shia-Sutni issue. Both countries broke their diplomatic relations in 2016 due to similar disputes. But with the help of China, the two countries signed a generalization agreement in March 2023. Saudi Arabia may befriended Iran but it is not forgotten the old hostility.

Fazhur Rahman says, ‘It would be wrong to think that Saudi Arabia may have friendship with showing but it will forget his enmity. The biggest thing is that what Muslim countries will get to help Iran, on the contrary, the enmity of Israel and America will be embraced.

Sri Lankan Guardian’s foreign affairs editor has said in an article that Muslim countries have repeatedly cheated each other in the interest of western countries and have lost their own.

The article mentions American attacks in Iraq in 2003 stating that America could not do the condition of Iraq without the airbase, logistics and silence of the neighboring countries of Iraq. Saudi Arabia, Jordan and Qatar helped America which ruined Iraq.

The article wrote, ‘Iraq, which used to be the most modern Arab country, with the help of Muslim countries made the US a battleground of foreign soldiers and proxy groups.’

Threat to Khamenei’s rule

Israel has killed its top military commanders and nuclear scientists in attacks on Iran. Israeli also wanted to kill Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei but America stopped him. A senior American official had told the news agency Reuters that the Iranians have not killed a single American so far, so the US would not target Iran’s political leadership.

After this, while talking to Fox News, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had indicated that there could be a change of power in Iran.

US President Trump has said that now there is a lot of delay in interacting with Iran and his patience has responded. Trump has said that something big is going to happen in the next week. In such a situation, it is feared that there may be a coup in Khamenei in Iran.
