‘केरल से खतरनाक पश्चिम बंगाल के हालात…’, बोले नेशनल अवॉर्ड विनर डायरेक्टर सुदीप्तो सेन

‘The Kerala Story’ director Sudipto Sen arrived in Surat city of Gujarat to participate in an event. Sudipto Sen has openly talked to Aaj Tak regarding the controversies of the film ‘The Kerala Story’. In this conversation, he has linked the situation in Kerala and Jammu and Kashmir to West Bengal. He talked about Muslim appeasement in the West Bengal assembly elections and claimed that there will be a change of government in the elections this time.

In an exclusive conversation with Aaj Tak, Sudipto Sen said,The Kerala StoryRegarding the controversies, he said that the thing is that this was a very important political aspect. There was a political aspect because in Kerala and Bengal, these two states, the Muslim vote decides who will be in the government. So incidents like this are part of a bigger political game, which I will call ‘Islamic Terrorism’. It was active all over the world long ago.

The director further said, ‘You must have heard about a BBC documentary ‘ISIS Widows’. It has been revealed long ago that ISIS had a dangerous plan. Taking girls from all over the world and using them to serve terrorists in Syria and Lebanon. Thousands of girls went. I used to wonder why these things did not come to light from India? When I started going to Kerala from 2012 and started getting information about it, I came to know that Kerala is a hub of this. The part of North Kerala is sitting on a ‘volcano’, the sight of which is sometimes seen, but is usually swept under the carpet.

Evidence given to censor board
‘A question was raised in the Kerala Assembly in 2011, when Congress was in power and Oman Chandy was the Chief Minister. In response to a figure, he had said that on an average, 1700 to 2200 girls are being converted every month in Kerala. He did not tell what kind of conversion it was. According to my research, this is called ‘manipulative conversion’. Where girls are brainwashed. This is what I have shown in my film. According to their figures, if so many conversions were taking place every month, then I had calculated that number to be 32,000. However, local experts say that this number could be much higher. Maybe Rs 50,000 or even lakhs.

Sudipto Sen further said, ‘My film is a testimony of those girls. At the end of the film I have shown the real story of those girls. Spoke to the mother of a girl who is currently in jail in Afghanistan; The parents of a girl who had committed suicide came on camera; And the girl who was gang-raped also spoke. When I gave the film to the Censor Board, they asked me for proof of each sentence for two months. I gave 200 pages of documents and more than three hours of video testimony, after which the Censor Board passed the film without any cuts. To ignore the truth is to run away from one’s responsibility. If someone proves me wrong, I would be happy. If there is no such thing as Islamic terrorism in the country, I will make good films about dancing and singing under trees. But dismissing my film as ‘propaganda’ is wrong politics.

Situation in Bengal is more dangerous than Kerala – Sudipto Sen
Speaking to Aaj Tak, Sudipto Sen said, ‘In some cases, I find the situation in Bengal more dangerous than that in Kerala. All this is happening secretly or indirectly in Kerala, but west bengal All this is happening straight away. The political class there is directly involved in this. There are reports like ‘Babri Masjid’ being built in Bengal. This is not good for the security of the country. What will the Chief Minister do? If they want to save their government, they need Muslim votes. She cannot remain in power without Muslim votes. This has been going on since 1947—’Muslim appeasement’ has become a political strategy. Muslims were never considered citizens of this country, they were only considered a vote bank. How can there be a parallel law like ‘Sharia law’ in a democratic country? How can an area be named ‘Muslim area’? There is often filth and lack of education in those areas because no political party has ever thought about their development, they just used them. This should stop.

Sudipto Sen said that if he gets a chance, he would definitely like to make a film on the situation in West Bengal. My language is cinema and I will express my views only through cinema. The effect will be visible, there will be politics based on religion. There is no development visible in Bengal, people are just appeased by giving them money or goods (bicycles, computers). The country cannot progress by giving bribes.

Let us tell you that Sudipto Sen has received the National Award for Best Director in the 71st National Film Awards for his film ‘The Kerala Story’.
