A big and new revelation has come to light in the Ketan Aggarwal murder case of Pune. Police investigation has revealed that the main accused Siya Goyal and her lover Chetan Chaudhary had completely cleared the entire chat history and recycle bin data of their mobile phones just before and after the crime in order to throw dust in the eyes of the law. The police have now sent the mobile phones of both of them to the Forensic Science Laboratory to get back these deleted digital logs.
A police officer involved in the investigation team said, “During our investigation it was revealed that both the accused had deleted chats from their mobile phones before June 18 and after the Lohgarh incident. These chats were deleted from the recycle bin of their phones.”
were in contact for 6 months
Pune Investigation by the rural police revealed that Siya Goyal (20) and her boyfriend Chetan Choudhary (22) were in constant touch for about six months before the incident. During this period, he made 2004 phone calls with a total of 238 hours of conversation.
The script was finalized in the cafe
On the day of the incident, both of them met in a cafe to finalize the murder plot and identified the exact place in Lohgarh Fort of Maval taluka from where Aggarwal was to be pushed.
The accused confessed to the crime
Lonavala Division Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Gajanan Tonpe said that investigators have firmly established the active role of both the suspects. The police have also called Goyal’s brother for questioning and are also calling other relatives and friends for questioning.
Tonpe said, “We have called Sia’s brother for questioning and other family members and friends will also be called. As of now, the role of both Sia and Chetan in the alleged murder of Ketan has been proven.”
Although Chaudhary had initially claimed that he was not present at the rockfall site, police officers found that his statement was soon proven false during interrogation, following which both the suspects confessed to the crime.
Another police officer said, “It was clear that he was lying.” He further said that eventually both of them accepted their role and gave full details of the incident.
Police claim that as per the final plan, Goyal sat down and gave a pre-planned signal, after which Choudhary came from behind and pushed Aggarwal, who was unable to realize anything, into the ditch.
Vishal Aggarwal said, “We met Fadnavis ji and demanded an early hearing of the case. We also said that the truth should come out and if anyone else is involved in this, a case should be registered against them too. All those responsible for the murder of my son should be given strict punishment.”
He also responded to media reports which said that Goyal did not like his son’s wig. He asked, “…If they had any problem, they should have refused. What was the need to kill my son?”
He said that it is true that his son used to wear a small patch of wig and Goyal and his family were informed about this even before the engagement.
According to the police, Goyal and Aggarwal were going to get married in November, but she did not want to marry him. It is alleged that Sia and Chetan conspired to remove Ketan from the way and executed the plan.
Goyal’s mother has claimed that her daughter did not want to go to Lohgarh Fort on June 18, but Aggarwal and her mother convinced her for the trip. ”
Her mother told that on the evening of June 17, Siya and Ketan talked on video call, in which Ketan asked her to go with him to Lohagarh. During the call, Ketan’s mother also talked to Sia and convinced her to go with Ketan. Siya told them that she did not want to go trekking as she had a program the next day and she wanted to rest.”
Father’s pain and the truth about wedding expenses
Speaking to reporters, Goyal’s father dismissed reports that the family had booked a palace in Udaipur for the wedding and arranged for a chartered flight.
He said, “It is true that the wedding was to be held in Udaipur. The hotel rent was around Rs 81 thousand per couple per day and we had booked 70 rooms. Our total expenditure was not more than Rs 3 crore.”
Seeing the seriousness of this crime, the state government has immediately intervened. Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis met the victim’s father Vishal Agarwal in Pune and assured all possible help to the family.
The state government has officially accepted the family’s demand that the case be heard in a fast-track court and for this has appointed Ujjwal Nikam as Special Public Prosecutor.
Later speaking to journalists, the Chief Minister said that the Lohgarh Fort incident shows a worrying social trend, which needs to be thought deeply.
He said, “This is a very shocking and incomprehensible incident. As a society, we have to think about why such criminal thinking and a feeling of revenge develop in educated young men and women from good families. This is not just a criminal matter, but it also has a social aspect.”
Society should create a strong support system so that such feelings of revenge do not arise among the youth. Fadnavis said that overall, this is a very shocking incident.
