Former Indian cricketer Dinesh Karthik has criticized Pakistan’s Test team. He said- ‘Pakistan team is doing injustice to Test cricket.’ He said this while talking to Sky Sports.
Pakistan had to face 0-3 defeat in the Test series on the England tour. On this, Karthik described Pakistan as a very ordinary team. He also said- ‘At present, captaincy, coach and selection in Pakistan cricket, everything seems to be very unstable.’
Karthik also questioned the attitude of PCB
Analyzing the Test series, Karthik said- ‘When I saw this Test series, I felt that the Pakistan team is very ordinary. In the first two Test matches, he could not even last 90 overs including both the innings.
He said- Admittedly, the pitch had support for the bowlers and batting was not easy, but it was not such a pitch on which even 90 overs could not be played.
Karthik also raised questions on the decisions of PCB. He said- ‘After the second test, he suddenly made 7 changes in the squad and also changed the support staff.’
Praising Razaullah, he said – Why was he not in the team already?
Pakistan had included debutant Razaullah in the playing-11 for the third test. In this match, Razaullah played an innings of 81 runs in 63 balls and also took 4 wickets.
Praising Razaullah, Karthik said, ‘A player like Razaullah performed brilliantly in the last Test, but why was he not in the touring team from the beginning? What is going on in team selection? What kind of players do they have?’
Said- It is difficult for Pakistan to achieve the old level
Karthik said- ‘Pakistan has a wonderful and rich heritage of Test cricket, but at the moment they are nowhere near that level. This situation is very worrying for the people associated with Pakistan cricket.
He expressed hope that the right people will pay attention to this situation and take necessary steps to make the team strong again. However, Karthik also admitted that it will not be easy to bring Pakistan back to its old level.
