On Wednesday, there was a sudden explosion in two scooters parked on the roadside on Meston Road in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, in which more than eight people were injured. There was a stir in the area after the case. Kanpur Police Commissioner Raghuveer Lal said that the explosion occurred due to illegally stored firecrackers. This has been revealed after investigation of this matter.
UP ATS and Kanpur Police are starting a search operation at the incident site in coordination. Investigation has revealed that the blast was caused by illegal firecrackers and not by any big bomb. So far 6 people have been detained in this case, and more people will be brought for questioning.
Police Commissioner Raghuveer Lal said that initially a rumor was spread among the people that many people had died. He said that because of this, when the injured were taken to the hospital, people there got agitated and created a ruckus, which was pacified. He also said that some people had tried to divert the matter that some big bomb had been thrown. But now investigation has revealed that it was illegally stocked firecrackers which caused the explosion.
Illegal stalking happened in some protection…
The Commissioner admitted that it also appears that this illegal stalking was done under someone’s protection. He said in a strict tone that now action will be taken against all of them. This includes those people who had kept illegal firecrackers as well as the police officers who protect them. The Police Commissioner had also received a call from the Chief Minister’s Office to get information about the current situation.

Update of search operation and injured
Now the search operation has been started on the spot in coordination with UP ATS and Kanpur Police. The Police Commissioner said that so far 6 people have been detained in this case, and more people will be brought for questioning. Talking about the injured, four seriously injured people have been referred to Lucknow. Two people were slightly injured, who were immediately discharged, and two are undergoing treatment in the district hospital. Police will launch a search campaign against illegal firecrackers from tomorrow.
