The Duke and Duchess of Sussex plan to leave California by the end of August and settle in a private home outside London.

Prince Harry and Meghan are reportedly moving back to the UK within weeks, enrolling their children in British schools.
Prince Harry and his wife Meghan are set to move back to the United Kingdom within weeks, six years after stepping down as working royals and relocating to the United States, British media reported on Wednesday.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex plan to leave California by the end of August and settle in a private home outside London, according to The Telegraph. Their children, Prince Archie, 7, and Princess Lilibet, 5, have reportedly been enrolled at a British school ahead of the new academic year in September.
The couple are said to have already chosen a house, which will not be a royal residence. They are expected to retain their home in Montecito, California, as well as a property in Portugal.
Harry, Meghan To Remain Non-Working Royals
Harry, 41, and Meghan, 45, moved to North America in 2020 after stepping back from royal duties amid a bitter dispute with the royal family.
Their departure was followed by a series of high-profile revelations about life within the monarchy, including their 2021 interview with Oprah Winfrey and Harry’s memoir Spare, which further strained relations with his family.
The couple’s return will not involve any change to their royal status. They will continue to live as non-working members of the royal family, according to reports.
King Charles III, 77, was reportedly informed of their plans on Sunday and “welcomes the opportunity to see more of the family in a personal capacity”, the Press Association reported.
The move could give Harry more opportunities to spend time with his father, who has been undergoing cancer treatment. Harry met Charles privately during the Sussexes’ visit to Britain in July.
William-Harry Rift Remains
It remains unclear whether Prince William and his wife Catherine were informed about Harry and Meghan’s plans before the reports emerged.
The brothers have remained estranged in recent years, with reports suggesting they have had little contact.
The couple’s return comes after several years of building a new life in the US, including commercial deals with Netflix and other media ventures.
Harry has previously expressed a desire to reconcile with his father, but relations within the wider royal family remain strained.
The Sussexes’ planned return also comes shortly after Charles Spencer, the brother of Harry’s late mother Princess Diana, announced a new book about her life. Diana died in a Paris car crash in 1997 while being pursued by paparazzi.
