Bollywood singer Sonu Nigam has apologized to Kannada people by releasing a video message just before his ‘The Revolution India Tour’ starting from October 24.

His first concert to be held in Bengaluru is being opposed by pro-Kannada organization ‘Karnataka Raksha Vedike’ (KRV). The organization has written a letter to the Police Commissioner demanding cancellation of the permission for the concert.

Seeing the controversy escalating, the 53-year-old singer said that if apologizing saves his 30-year-old relationship with the people of Karnataka, then he has no problem in saying sorry a thousand times.

Sonu said in Kannada – Sorry a thousand times to save the relationship

In the video message, Sonu Nigam has also said some things in Kannada language. He said that when you love someone and want the relationship to continue, there should be no problem in saying sorry a thousand times.

Sonu Nigam while addressing the fans said that if anything said inadvertently has hurt the people of Karnataka, then he is sorry for it. He said that he never wants to hurt anyone and does not want his years old relationship to get spoiled because of some small misunderstanding.

Kannada and Pahalgam dispute took place in 2025

This entire controversy dates back to April 2025, when Sonu Nigam was performing at East Point College, Bengaluru. During the show, a spectator in the crowd had asked him to sing a Kannada song. On this, Sonu Nigam had said from the stage itself, ‘The best songs I have sung are in Kannada… I did not like it when a boy asked me to sing in Kannada. He was threatening, ‘Kannada, Kannada.’ This is the reason for the Pahalgam attack. This is why the Pahalgam terrorist incident took place.

Now the concert is to be held in Thanisandra Mall on 24th October.

Sonu Nigam’s ‘The Revolution India Tour’ is scheduled to start from Bengaluru on 24th October. As per the schedule, his first concert is to be held at Bhartiya Mall located on Thanisandra Main Road at 7 pm. However, there is doubt regarding the organization of the concert after the opposition from Kannada organization.

KRV demands police commissioner to cancel the concert

State president of ‘Karnataka Raksha Vedike’ (KRV) TA Narayana Gowda has warned that if Sonu Nigam’s concert is allowed, it will be protested in the entire state. The organization has submitted a letter to the Bengaluru City Police Commissioner and put forward 5 demands. These include canceling the permission for the concert, taking legal action on the old complaint filed against Sonu Nigam and taking strict steps to stop linguistic tension. KRV alleges that Sonu Nigam had insulted the Kannada language.
