India has been ranked third in a new ranking of the world’s air force power. Only America and Russia are ahead of India, while China is at fourth place. China’s government media is furious about this.
Global Times, the mouthpiece of the Communist Party of China, quoted Chinese military expert Zhang Junshe as saying that this ranking should not be taken seriously. He said that only the actual combat capability shows the real strength of an army and not the figure shown on paper.
Zhang said the US and Indian media’s hype may be aimed at stoking China-India competition and could start a dangerous chain of misunderstandings.

According to Newsweek, India’s rise in the ranking is a sign of change in the strategic balance of Asia.
TruVal Rating is used to determine WDMMA’s rankings. It is based not just on the number of aircraft but on their quality, modernization, logistics support, attack and defense capabilities.
