121 people died and more than 30 were injured in a stampede during a satsang in Hathras on July 2. The name of the baba during whose satsang this horrific accident happened is Surajpal. He used to work as a policeman before becoming a self-proclaimed baba. Suddenly he entered the world of spirituality and changed his name from Surajpal to Narayan Sakar Hari and his followers made him Bhole Baba.
Baba has not one or two but 24 ashrams. The value of his movable and immovable assets is more than 100 crores. Baba moves with a convoy of 25 to 30 vehicles. Narayan Sakar Hari alias Bhole Baba does not take even a penny as offering from his followers, then how did he build his many luxurious ashrams and how did he arrange all the comforts and facilities of the world in these ashrams? We tell you how Narayan Sakar Hari aka Bhole Baba is funded…
Bhole Baba’s ashram is spread over 21 bighas in Bichhua village of Mainpuri. Vinod Babu Anand of Mainpuri has donated this land to Baba. When the land was available, devotees collected donations for the mansion built on it. 199 people of the area donated generously. People donated money ranging from ten thousand rupees to 2.51 lakhs to Baba. All these people who donated are included in Baba’s Sevadar Committee of Mainpuri district.
Baba has put up the names of the donors on the gate of the ashram
Baba has displayed the names of all the people who donated money and their complete information on the gate of the ashram. At the top of the list is the name of Vinod Babu Anand who donated 21 bighas of land for the ashram. After that is the list of people who donated cash. If the total amount of donation is added, it comes to 88 lakh, 35 thousand, 529 rupees. That is, Baba collected more than 88 lakh rupees from only 200 people.
There must be many such devotees who would have donated from ₹1000 to ₹10,000, but their names have not been recorded in this list. Like Mainpuri, Bhole Baba has formed a separate committee for devotees in every district, which builds Baba’s ashram in every district. That is why devotees of Baba coming from poor sections say that he does not take donations from them. They do not know how Baba collects donations. Meanwhile, Uttar Pradesh Police has arrested Devprakash Madhukar, the main accused in the Hathras stampede, from Delhi.
There is suspicion of Baba’s program being funded by a political party
He claimed that he was the main organiser and fund raiser of the July 2 ‘satsang’. He suspected that the programmes of self-styled Baba Narayan Sakar Hari are financed by a political party. Claiming that some political parties had recently approached Madhukar, the police said that political connections and money transactions will be investigated and strict action will be taken if any party is found involved in the activities.
Hathras Superintendent of Police Nipun Agarwal said in a press conference, ‘Madhukar was the main organiser of the satsang held in Phulrai village on July 2 and permission for the event was taken in his name. Thus, Madhukar has two roles – the main organiser and the fund raiser. Madhukar is the only accused in the FIR lodged at the Sikandrarao police station on July 2 after the stampede, and investigations have revealed that some political parties had approached him some time ago. A detailed investigation into the funding is being conducted to find out if the event and other resources were funded by any political party.’
Hathras Superintendent of Police Nipun Agarwal said, ‘All the bank accounts, movable and immovable properties, money trail related to the accused Devprakash Madhukar are being investigated, in which help will be taken from other agencies as per the need. From the investigation so far, it seems that some political party is associated with them for their political and personal interests.’ When asked whether the police will also interrogate Narayan Sakar Hari alias Bhole Baba after arresting Madhukar, Hathras SP said, ‘Action will be taken on the basis of further investigation in the case.’
