The helicopter of Uttarakhand Governor retired Lieutenant General Gurmeet Singh suffered a technical fault during the flight. The Governor was going to Gairsain, where the Assembly session is to begin from Monday and the budget is to be presented on the first day.

As soon as the alert of technical fault was received, the pilot immediately decided to make an emergency landing of the Eurocopter helicopter as a precautionary measure. After this the chopper was landed safely at GVK helipad in Srinagar.
Due to the wisdom and promptness of the pilot, a major accident was averted. After the incident, the Governor was taken under security to the Police Guest House in Srinagar, where he is completely safe. The Governor was going from Tehri to Gairsain.
Were going for assembly session in Gairsain
Governor Gurmeet Singh was going to Gairsain in Chamoli district. The session of Uttarakhand Assembly is to start there from Monday and the budget is to be presented on the first day. To participate in this program, he had left for Gairsain in Chamoli by helicopter, but after a technical fault was encountered on the way, he had to make an emergency landing in Srinagar.
Alert of technical fault received during flight
According to the information, when the helicopter was in flight, at around 1.30 pm the pilot got a signal of a technical fault. Sensing the situation, the pilot immediately took precautionary measures and did not take any risk.
After this, the helicopter was diverted to the nearest safe place and successfully landed at GVK helipad in Srinagar. A possible accident was averted due to the wisdom of the pilot.
Sent to Srinagar guest house, investigation started
As soon as information about the emergency landing of the helicopter was received, the administration and security agencies reached the spot. As per security protocol, the Governor was safely taken out from the helipad and taken to the Police Guest House in Srinagar.
Here, the technical team is investigating the fault in the helicopter. Officials say that only after the investigation is completed, a decision will be taken regarding the Governor’s further program and next flight.

Attended Tehri Lake Festival, then left for Gairsain
The Governor had reached Koti Colony in Tehri earlier this morning on the third day of the four-day Himalayan (O2) Tehri Lake Festival. Here he participated in the programs organized at the festival and honored the winners of various competitions.
During this time, an air show was organized in Tehri Lake, which was witnessed by the Governor. He inspected the stalls set up in the festival and also saw the shackles of immortal martyr Sridev Suman.
After attending the program, the Governor left by helicopter for Gairsain in Chamoli district, where he is scheduled to attend the assembly session.
