According to the news agency PTI, the Film Federation of India announced the selection in Kolkata. Selection Committee Chairman N Chandra said that a total of 24 films in different languages ​​were in the race to represent the country at the Oscars. Homebound will now compete to win the first nomination and then the award with an official entry of more than a hundred countries for the Best International Feature Film next year.

The producer of the film Dharma Production, the production company of Karan Johar, has expressed happiness by tweeting on the occasion. It was written in the tweet- ‘We are proud to announce that Hombound is India’s official entry for the Best International Feature Film at the 98th Academy Award.
