Bodies of 5 Israeli civilians recovered
Earlier on July 25, the Israel Defense Force (IDF) recovered the bodies of 5 Israeli citizens from Gaza. They were taken hostage by Hamas during an attack on 7 October 2023. The Israeli army says that the bodies of the hostages were recovered during an operation in the city of Khan Younis.

IDF spokesman Daniel Hagari said that the army had launched an operation in Khan Younis after receiving secret input. The bodies of 5 Israeli hostages were found in this operation. All the bodies have been sent to Israel. The bodies of the Israeli hostages found have been identified as teacher Maya Goren, Israeli army Major Ravid Katz and 3 police officers Oren Goldin, Sergeant Tomer Ahimas and Kirill Brodsky.
