India Women’s players celebrating the victory.
India Women defeated Sri Lanka by making its highest T20 score on Sunday. The team won the fourth match by 30 runs. Sri Lanka chose bowling at the Greenfield Stadium in Thiruvananthapuram. India scored 221 runs, Shefali Verma and Smriti Mandhana made an opening partnership of 162 runs.
In front of a big target, Sri Lankan captain Chamari Atapattu scored a fifty, but the team could score only 191 runs. This was also Sri Lanka’s best score in T-20. In bowling for India, Vaishnavi Sharma and Arundhati Reddy took 2-2 wickets. By winning the fourth match, India also took an unassailable 4-0 lead in the series. The fifth match will be played on 30th December in Thiruvananthapuram only.
Thanks to the fifties of openers Smriti Mandhana and Shefali Verma, India scored 221 runs for 2 wickets. Shefali scored her third consecutive fifty in the series. She was out after scoring 79 runs. Mandhana completed her fifty in 35 balls and returned to the pavilion after scoring 80 runs. With this inning, Mandhana also completed her 10 thousand international runs. She became the fourth female cricketer to achieve this feat.
In the middle order, Richa Ghosh scored unbeaten 40 runs in 16 balls. Captain Harmanpreet Kaur remained unbeaten after scoring 16 runs on 10 balls. The Indian team has taken an unassailable 3-0 lead in the series by winning the first 3 T-20s. The team won 2 matches by 8 wickets and one match by 7 wickets.

Sri Lanka lost despite making the best score In front of the target of 222 runs, Sri Lanka Women made a fast start, the team scored 58 runs in just 5 overs. Hasini Perera was then out after scoring 33 runs in 20 balls, after which captain Chamari Atapattu scored a fifty. He along with Imesha Dulani took the team beyond 100 runs. Atapattu was out after scoring 52 runs and Dulani was out after scoring 29 runs.
Even after falling 2 wickets for 129 runs, Sri Lanka batted fast. The team scored 191 runs after losing 6 wickets. Nilakshi de Silva scored 23 runs in the lower order. Shri Charani from India also took 1 wicket, while one batsman was run out.
