The new season of ‘India’s Got Talent’ is starting from today on Sony TV and Sony Live. This time Navjot Singh Sidhu, Malaika Arora and Shan will be seen in the role of judge. In a conversation with Dainik Bhaskar, Navjot Singh Sidhu talked about his life, experiences and his view of the talent in the show.
What was the most special experience of India’s Got Talent in the new season?
My bat in cricket said, my voice in the commentary made access to the people and my voice in politics affected. But on the stage of India’s Got Talent, the audience will be able to see me in my true form. For the first time it happened that I became emotional on stage. This was a new and very deep experience for me. The platform has always been special for me, but this platform connects me not only with the audience but also to the sentiments of the participants. It is a confluence of self-discipline, quick decision and mental appearance presence of mind.

How do your one-liners, poets and dialogues become so comfortable and impressive?
This is the result of inner energy and continuous practice. I believe that there is immense power in the mind. The need is only to identify it and turn it in the right direction. Many times, all three are absorbed in the same line. This is the art of saying deeply in less words.
The theme of the show ‘The world’s biggest disease- what will people say?’ What is your opinion on this?
The biggest disease is to get caught in the trap of others’ opinion and fear. People always wonder what they will say. This disease removes us from our real nature and talent. It is shown in this show that only one can show his true form by being free from fear and anxiety.
What do you have to say about the theme ‘Ajab Hai, Awesome Hai’?
These are the way of showing the talents of the show which are different from normal thinking. Looking at these talents, it seems that the amazing power in the world is within everyone, it is just a need to be recognized.

How did your life and experiences affect this show?
I controlled my mind with my food, discipline and meditation. Now the audience will see me in a calm, centered and inspired form on the stage. Swami Vivekananda taught me that real power is within. It is in experience, not in books. Understanding and controlling the mind is real art. It is my responsibility to bring this power to the audience in India’s Got Talent.
How was the experience of working with Malaika Arora and Shaan in this show?
The synergy with Malaika Mam and Shaan is very good. Malaika’s discipline and lifestyle is inspiring. The sensitivity and experience of glory makes the show more impressive. This team acts like a family and creates the best platform for talents.
This season you saw a moment that has really surprised you?
Yes, of course! A magician Himanshu showed such a magic that I was shocked. He used to do magic just like Tantra, no playing cards, but his art shook the whole stage and my mind. A group of children also showed the jugalbandi with drums, dances and flutes, reminding Bhupen Hazarika Saheb. I really did not want this moment to end. This is the specialty talent of this show is so amazing that you are not sure.

What was such a moment in this season when he could not stop himself emotionally?
For the first time it happened that I was shaken inside after seeing a talent on the stage. His hard work, passion and dedication touched me so much that I had tears in my eyes. I am usually not emotional, but that moment was somewhat different. This is the beauty of this show. It is not just entertainment, but is a platform to bring out the depths of human emotion, struggle and spirit.
What message would you like to give for the youth?
Winning the mind is the real victory. Look within yourself, recognize your talent and bring it out with confidence. Do not allow fear and opinion of others to become a hindrance in the path of your dreams.
