  • Hearing on minority status on December 4: The National Commission for Minority Educational Institutions (NCMEI) has issued a show cause notice to Al Falah University. In which it has been asked – Why should its minority status not be canceled at a time when two of its doctors are being investigated for their role in the November 10 blast in Delhi, in which 15 people were killed.
  • University and Education Department have to present their stand: The NCMEI hearing is scheduled for December 4. Here both the Registrar of the University and the Principal Secretary of the Education Department will have to present their views. The commission will examine whether the university is still managed by the minority community for which it was granted special status, and whether there has been any change in ownership or control.
  • If the status is lost then the students Disadvantages: If Al-Falah loses its minority status, it could have a profound impact on students. Many of them, who depend on government scholarships and grants for their studies, may face problems.

External states, especially Kashmir, are under scrutiny. The investigating agencies are collecting information about doctors, professors and personnel from other states working in all the colleges, universities and hospitals of Faridabad district. Especially people of Kashmiri origin are being kept an eye on. According to the police, the records of all those coming to work or study from Jammu and Kashmir are being checked. It is being ascertained about the people working in colleges and hospitals, what was their appointment process, for how long have they been working, what is their background.

The family members of the student now want to get information related to OPD and ICU of the hospital running in the university. One of the parents, Rajneesh, said that he wanted the parents to be aware of what medical facilities their children are getting and what facilities and resources are available in the hospital.

The concern of parents has increased even more after the names of Dr. Shaheen Saeed, Dr. Muzammil Shakeel and Dr. Umar Nabi of Al-Falah University surfaced in the terrorist module. The investigating agencies are continuously tightening their noose on the university. In such a situation, parents are afraid that their children’s degree might get ruined.
