Here, after the news of Indores getting stuck in various cities of UAE including Dubai, Madhya Pradesh Urban Administration Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya has become active. Taking information about the latest situation, he contacted various ministries in Delhi and discussed about measures for the return of people of Indore stranded in Dubai. He discussed with businessman Pintu Chhabra along with former MLAs stranded in Dubai and asked them to try to return from Oman, currently air connectivity between India and Oman is continuing. The minister also advised people stranded in UAE to keep in touch with the Indian Embassy and follow their instructions.

Air India Express operates regular flights between Indore and Sharjah. Due to the war between Iran and Israel that started on February 28, the company had canceled its incoming and outgoing flights and has announced cancellation of flights even today. In such a situation, passengers coming to Indore from Sharjah, Abu Dhabi and Dubai are stuck there. Two former MLAs from Indore, Sanjay Shukla and Vishal Patel, along with businessman Pintu Chhabra, his son Karan Chhabra and daughter-in-law, Praveen Kakkar, Sanjay Aggarwal and other associates have gone to Dubai.

Sumit Tongya, who went to Sharjah on February 26 with his family along with 6 people from Indore, told that he is currently in Abu Dhabi. However, the attacks have calmed down since Sunday morning. He told that many people are stuck here due to the closure of flights. His return flight is also on March 3 and the situation regarding this is not clear yet.

Tours of outgoing passengers were also canceled

State President of Travel Agents Federation of India, Amol Kataria said that due to cancellation of flights due to war, many flights going to Indore and other countries including UAE have been cancelled. Due to this, pre-booked tour packages of passengers are getting cancelled. In view of the war conditions, many tourists are themselves canceling their tours. The passengers who have reached there are continuously trying to return to India by any means.

MP basketball team players also trapped

The Indian senior men’s basketball team went to Doha on 25 February to participate in the Asian Qualifiers. Tushal Singh of Madhya Pradesh is also included in the team. The team was to go to Lebanon on 27th, but due to ongoing political tensions in Qatar, international air travel is closed.

Basketball Federation of India (BFI) General Secretary Kulwinder Singh Gill said that the Indian team finished its scheduled match against Qatar on 27 February.
